Recommend me a good and cutesy Romanceš
Iāve seen Kaguya Sama Love is War, Rascal does not dream series, Horimiya, and my dress up. So anything that isnāt those I am open to ideas:) Need a good romance. Can be a little degenerate that doesnāt deter me but preferably cutesy too. Would also like to know the reason why you like the show too. Cheers!

Very sweet vibes from this one. It's a brisk watch from start to finish, and it's short so far (12 episodes).
It's very simple and has some pretty standard shojo trappings (like Sad Hot Boy with Mysterious Past), but the characters and aesthetic are charming. I think its messaging around self-love and connecting with others is really sweet.
While it doesn't exactly get away from the romance plot, it goes about it in a very sweet and unhurried way, avoiding contrived moments of high drama. The characters are pretty grounded in their interactions with each other, minus one particular outlier who is meant to be portrayed in such a way.
Also, it has trans representation in the main supporting cast that is pretty wholesome, in my opinion. I can't speak with experience on the subject, but I think the character is a positive role model, she's never the butt of jokes, and she's, you know, a character who exists and has her own identity outside of "this is a trans character, and that's it".
It's hopefully getting a season 2 this year!
If you want something with more romance in the forefront that has some vibes kind of like Skip and Loafer, there's also **Yano-kun's Ordinary Days**.
Yet it's actually published as a seinen. lol
Shikimori's not just a cutie|
Tonikawa over the moon for you|
Saekano|
Oregairu(romcom)|
And also rent a girl friend.
- [The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity](https://myanimelist.net/anime/59845/Kaoru_Hana_wa_Rin_to_Saku) - probably the sweetest cast you'll ever see in at least a romance anime, maybe even any anime. It's recent, it's adorable, it's essential.
- [Pseudo Harem](https://myanimelist.net/anime/54968/Giji_Harem) - saw this recommended already and usually I try to recommend things that aren't already there, but I have to second this. The main duo are cute dorks and the voice acting is superb - it's a Saori Hayami masterpiece.
- [Insomniacs After School](https://myanimelist.net/anime/50796/Kimi_wa_Houkago_Insomnia) - want more cute dorks? How about some cute astronomy club dorks? This one's a little more on the drama side (and does get a little serious at points) than most of what I'm recommending, but it's really sweet and so, so good.
- [Yano-kun's Ordinary Days](https://myanimelist.net/anime/60254/Yano-kun_no_Futsuu_no_Hibi) - not enough cute dorks yet? The WHOLE CAST here is comprised of them. One of my personal standouts from last season.
- [The Dangers in My Heart](https://myanimelist.net/anime/52578/Boku_no_Kokoro_no_Yabai_Yatsu) - also seconding this; just get past the first couple episodes (starts out on a note too edgy for some) and you will find yourself watching a brilliant romance with real character development.
- [The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses](https://myanimelist.net/anime/54234/Suki_na_Ko_ga_Megane_wo_Wasureta) - this is just pure sugar. Honestly not a lot of substance to it (though the manga does add some past where the anime leaves off, and if you like the show you'll LOVE the manga I think) but it's impossible to watch and not smile.
- [Teasing Master Takagi-san](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35860/Karakai_Jouzu_no_Takagi-san) - this one's a slow burn; 3 seasons and a movie of watching the titular Takagi and her friend Nishikata fall for each other. It's great stuff through and through. There's a sequel manga as well that I highly recommend reading if you enjoy this!
- [My Clueless First Friend](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53621/Jijou_wo_Shiranai_Tenkousei_ga_Guigui_Kuru) - title is accurate; Takada really operates on a skeleton crew of brain cells at all times. A good chunk of my recs feature a teasing/extroverted girl bringing a shy boy out of his shell; this one's the opposite. Extremely heartwarming; I am not ashamed to admit that I absolutely sobbed at multiple points watching this.
- [Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible](https://myanimelist.net/anime/51815/Kubo-san_wa_Mob_wo_Yurusanai) - and finally, we have the show I watched initially that sent me down the rabbit hole looking for shows like it (which ended up being, in part, the previous 3 recs). Kubo-san is so sweet it's almost dangerous, and that applies to both the show and the character it's named after. The art is cute. The characters are cute. Their interactions are cute. THIS SHOW IS **CUTE**. You know how when you say a word too much it stops sounding like a word? Do that to yourself with the word "cute" and it's still not enough to accurately capture how adorable this show is. I usually don't rewatch shows; I've already rewatched Kubo-san twice now, and read the manga (also highly recommended, btw) multiple times through as well. If you asked me to recommend one and one only, look no further.
Skip and Loafer,
April Showers Bring May Flowers,
A Star Brighter Than The Sun,
Hataraku Maou-sama! (Not romance but really interesting you might like it)
\- Teasing Master Takagi-san
\- Love, Chunibyo and other delusions
\- The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
\- Ai Yori Aoshi (a harem, but with a very clear main relationship, and that one is definately super cute)
\- My Clueless First Friend
\- Skip and Loafer
Very degenerate (very ecchi) but cute:
\- Mother of the Goddess Dormitory (this one is a very ecchi harem with an extreme age-gap, the MC is like 12-13 and most of the girls are in university... still, if you are not bothered by that the interactions themselves are pretty wholesome and cute)
\- Kiss x Sis (step-sibling incest and A LOT of very sexual situations, but depending on your tolerance, you might find the relationship quite cute)
Not strictly romance, but with very important and cutre romance subplots:
\- Cardcaptor Sakura (the main romance in this series is the cutest love story ever told in my opinion)
\- The Apothecary Diaries
Other romances where there's a little less focus cuteness, but still, highly recommended:
\- Kimagure Orange Road (80's love triangle)
\- Your Lie in April (very sad but very beautiful, tissues needed)
\- Clannad (starts as a typical harem, but in the second season it shows the challenges of a young adult couple, tissues needed)
\- Your Name (movie)
\- Fruits Basket
\- Toradora
\- Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian
The dangers in my heart - starts off a bit cringey and angsty but it gets so heartwarming later on. I loved it so much i watched it 3x.
A sign of affection - very very sweet and feels like a gentle hug. I love the disability representation
Tomo chan is a girl - classic tomboy best friend who falls in love with her boy best friend. Itās funny and has a good ending
Horimiya - the charm of this show is how well thought out the side characters are.
My love story with Yamada-kun - i love the anime, itās sweet, subtle and the characters are great. The star for me is how obsessed I am with the manga. Yamada gets sooo sweet in the manga.
A galaxy next door - so pure and so innocent. Definitely the warmest kindest hug.
Skip and Loafer - this is more coming of age than romance, the romance is slow burn and more friendly. Itās extremely endearing because the characters are well written and itās my ultimate favourite manga.
Snow White with the Red Hair - Shiriyuki has a personality and dreams outside of the MMC and Zen donāt play when it comes to her. Very cute romance, I wish we got more seasons
Kamisama Kiss - Nanami is adorable and I love her so much. Another one cut off too soon but we did get some OVAS which gave us an ending. Still hoping they come back and finish it anyways
Ice Guy and Cool Female Colleague has a gentle, sweet, office romance
And also Tsuki ga Kirei, another sweet and gentle romance
Let me know if you want more!Ā
Horimiya is a wonderfully sweet but at time absolutely hilarious high school romance
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku is a workplace romance between otakus that made me laugh
Recovery of an MMO Junkie is very slice of life romance with an adult cast
I'd also add I Have a Crush at Work (a very cute story of two adult office workers dating)
The dangers in my heart
From me to you
Flagrant flower blossom with dignity
Tomo chan is a girl
Dont toy with me, nagatoro
A sign of affection
Inexpressive Kashiwada & Expressive Oota
Both are office romance themed but very cute nonetheless. Especially the latter.
Oh and Shikimori is not just a cutie
Kamisama Kiss
Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits
365 Days to the Wedding. Workplace romcom, finished as far as I know. Fake dating/engagement that turns into real feelings.
Kimi ni Todoke. High school romance, finished. Catch: I think season 3 is only on Netflix. I really like the friendships in this one, and I appreciate how faithful season 3 is to the manga. This is a **slow** burn for the relationships though.
A Sign of Affection. College romance, I think itās finished (not sure how the mangaās doing). I really like the pacing in this one, and how it handles Yukiās Deafness and the realities Deaf people face (especially those in families that donāt use sign language).
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts. Fantasy romance, finished. I like that this one covers almost all of the manga with decent pacing, and I love the way the romance is so tied into the political intrigue. The magic system is also really interesting.
Fruits Basket 2019. High school romantic drama, finished. The ship I like does not sail but itās still a great watch if you like shows that deal with family trauma and grief in an emotional way. Some fantasy elements that are mainly used to world-build for the family dynamics, and they got most of the 2001 cast to come back for the English dub! Itās also much more faithful to the manga. The dub does suffer from a couple translation issues because of the dynastic clan nature of the Sohma family, they all use the word ācousinā to explain it when thatās not very accurate.
Tomo-Chan is a Girl! High school romcom, finished. As someone who was the tomboy among guy friends in high school, I found this one relatable in a lot of ways. I also love the side characters! Though, like Fruits Basket, it suffers from a couple translation issues when explaining the dynastic clan set up because English doesnāt have the nuance for that like Japanese does.
it's extremely cute!
It's so adorable! One of my favorites
Might not be as cutesy as many others, but it is one of my favorites for reasons that would spoil the show
Absolute great and super cute since thatās what youāre asking
Wotakoi
Kamisama kiss
Spice and wolf
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999
Kaichou wa maid sama
Oregairu
Hanasaku iroha
Dandadan (this is also kind of a supernatural one but the love story is so good)
Ouran high school host club (watch the anime and then continue with the manga)
Gosick
Recovery of a MMO junkie
Skip beat

- MY Love Story!! (OreMonogatari!!)
- How I Attended an All-guys Mixer
- Girlfriend, Girlfriend
- 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You
I like the dynamic they develop, and you get the feeling that they just secretly understand each other more or less. I like that when she sticks up for him, it feels genuine and not like it's in a '"he's my plaything not yours" kind of way.
Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable
Nice change of scenery from the usual big city or green, paddy filled countryside. Mostly just good wholesome fun with some light teasing. Also hilarious to me that Hokkaido accent was localized to Canadian accent for whatever reason.
My First Girlfriend Is A Gal
This one's heavier on the fan service, but the relationship is wholesome af. Especially the fmc. She's such an angel. All the other characters are kinda scumbags tbh, especially the guy friends.
Rokudo's Bad Girls
It sets itself up like it's gonna be a trashy harem, but turns into a gang war with romance on the brain. If you like inhumanly strong, giant girls, this is like gold.
