[Attack on Titan] Why did [redacted]'s death stop the [redacted]?
1. Why did Zeke's death stop the rumbling?
I thought the whole point of needing royal blood to activate the Founding Titan's abilities was due to Ymir's servitude to the king and his bloodline. So how come, even when Ymir was convinced by Eren to join his side, the rumbling still stopped when Levi killed Zeke?
2. How could Eren contact Mikasa through the Paths if she wasn't an Eldian or Subject of Ymir? She also, along with Levi, doesn't turn into a pure Titan when exposed to the spinal fluid fog during the final battle, so why could she access the Paths?

2. Ackermans are still Subjects of Ymir, but they are immune to Titan transformation, probably since they are already utilising Titan power as the source of their superhuman capabilities
2. The Ackerman clan are still Eldians. In the manga, they are specifically referred to by Zeke as "byproducts of Eldian science". The experiments conducted on them had some effects such as they being unable to turn into titans probably because they might already be half-titans themselves. And they becoming immune to the founder's memory manipulation/wiping. Instead they gained superhuman strength.
All Eldians, dead or alive are connected to the paths. We see this many times with Levi being in the paths for Eren's rumbling declaration. He said so to Hange. And in the final chapter, chapter 2, Levi and Mikasa were in the paths along with Armin, Connie and Jean begging Eren to stop the rumbling.
As such the question isnt biological but psychological. The royal blood only matters in what Yimir perceives as the royal blood, aka the main royal line. She listens to them because of her own trauma. Zekes death remove sthe link between her and Erin mostly because she doesnt listen TO Erin she listens to what erin says because he holds zeke hostage or something.
In all likelyhood for all the brilliance the manga has in storytelling, the whole titan mechanics in the background and yimir were probably an afterthought and it doenst make sense because tehy were all retroactively added as the story expanded. Thus leading to a pretty juicy plothole for the end, one which has many potential answer but none taht can be definitifly proven as we lack sufficient data.
Now the whole Yimir stuff and the origins of teh titans, sure, but that is a small flaw in a story that is mostly character driven anyway and which answered mots other big lore questions extremely well.
The very ending was just silly though. And to top it all off the fascists take over then later everything gets carpet bombed. Imo people get too invested and can't accept when an ending is bad
