Can someone tell me very shortly about this series? So I can add to watchlist.
palebrowndot2026-01-29 13:26
Holy Grail War in America descends into chaos because everyone is either a weirdo or an impostor or both.
Live_Bother_75172026-01-29 13:28
Yohohoho.. look like a fun. When I see chaos word then I simply click on play button.
soulreaverdan2026-01-29 13:30
There’s a prequel episode that aired a year or two back, watch that one first - it’s basically the first episode that sets everything all up.
JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-29 18:37
That's not a prequel; it's the actual episode one.
BeardyDuck2026-01-29 18:42
Whispers of Dawn is the prologue that released in 2023. The single episode that came out 2024 is the first episode that also aired at the start of the season, so no need to watch that one.
mythriz2026-01-29 13:33
The LNs for this show were written by Ryōgo Narita who is the author for Baccano and Durarara if you liked those series! An author great at writing stories with a huge cast and multiple factions interacting with each other.
Live_Bother_75172026-01-29 13:45
I saw saberface and demigod words in other comments. Also need to watch fate first right ?
echolog2026-01-29 14:39
Ah so... Fate!
qel-luc2026-01-29 13:32
It’s a spinoff series of Fate Stay Night, Fate Zero and to a lesser extent, Tsukihime, all of which are TYPE-MOON works. It’s quite standalone, while having some recurring characters from other works in the franchise. The author is Rhyogo Narita, who is also known for Baccano! and Durarara.
It’s the same Fate formula as others: Masters summon Servants, who are famous heroes from the past, making pairs and they fight each other to claim a Holy Grail, wish-granting device. Fate / Strange Fake is different from the usual formula due to the Holy Grail War very quickly derailing from the norms established in main titles, such as Fate / Stay Night and Fate / Zero. Narita manages to write charismatic and compelling characters, while keeping fast narrative that doesn’t let you get bored.
It is generally recommened to watch/read either/both Fate / Stay Night and Fate / Zero, but in the case of this title, it is less important by majority’s opinion due to the amount of original characters and overarching story. If you were to choose only one to watch beforehand then go for Fate / Zero since it arguably has more significance for Strange Fake. But going into Strange Fake without knowing anything about Fate is perfectly fine. You’ll lose understanding of the usual norms and some recurring characters would be new to you.
Live_Bother_75172026-01-29 13:38
Thanks from clarity. So I am going to watch fate first. 1 days is enough to watch all previous once if I watch non stop ?
Vendun_2026-01-29 13:53
Zero and UBW are both 25 episodes long and Heaven's Fell is a trilogy of 2h movies, so 1 day is not enough.
If you are going to watch the three (which I recommand a lot), do UBW -> HF -> Zero, better watch order.
Live_Bother_75172026-01-29 13:55
No worries, I have lots of free time.
notatoaster002026-01-29 17:45
Here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1qq5oha/tv_anime_fatestrange_fake_new_character_visual/o2f7xxl/?context=3 My comment I left in this thread with everything in a suitable watch order.
zadcap2026-01-29 14:20
Fate / Zero is 24 episodes and is kind of a universal prequel to most of the main Fate lines. It should cover enough that you can go into Strange Fake with just it's knowledge.
Fate / Stay Night is very old and animated by a different company and kind of, just, not done well. It's technically the entry point to the franchise but they also tried to mix in important plot points from what would, much much later, become Unlimited Blade Works and Heavens Feel, which ultimately makes a mess of the last third of the story.
Fate / Unlimited Blade Works covers the same time frame and cast as Stay Night, but the plot of "what if we took option 2" a few episodes in and turns out into a different story. Same war, same fighters, different paths and outcomes. Animated by the same people as Zero, you'll only miss a little by not watching Stay Night.
Fate / Heavens Feel, same as Stay Night and Unlimited Blade Works, but pick option 3. The options, by the way, are which girl the main character chooses, but this one was turned into a set of movies instead of episodes, has the best looking fights because of it, and it covers the most of the background details of the setting that the first two danced around.
All of these take place in the same city, with a tight timeline of Zero being ten years before the other three. Honestly, they're all connected and no matter where you start you'll get spoiled for something that is important in the others, and people will fight over the best watch order pretty much forever. Stay Night is the original entry point into the franchise, but it's aged poorly, and everything else was handled by the same company that's making Demon Slayer look so good. You're probably not watching all of these in one day, but really you only need to pick one of them to get enough of the idea to jump into Strange Fake. I do not recommend starting with the Heavens Feel movies.
... And then, just for fun.
Fate / Apocrypha, like Strange Fake, says that things got so wild and off course in the Zero timeline that instead of picking back up in Japan a decade later, things got shunted off to Europe and it became a 7 vs 7 plus extra instead of a 7 way free for all like it's supposed to be. Completely unrelated to the rest of the franchise, somehow has an even more boring main character than Stay Night.
Everything from Grand Order is farther out than that, and really has nothing to do with the rest of the timelines other than sharing the whole summoning ancient heroes gimmick. It's the anime of the phone game. Skip it unless you liked the phone game, huge sections of plot are left out to cover only the coolest parts of certain arcs.
JockstrapCummies2026-01-29 14:47
> somehow has an even more boring main character than Stay Night.
Every time that fucking Sieg gets into frame I fast forward to the next scene.
Nachtwandler_FS2026-01-29 15:24
Small correction: Fate/Apocrypha went off before the Zero timeline during 3rd Grail War (Zero is the 4th one) and is by itself a replacement for 4th Grail War.
TransientEons2026-01-29 16:23
The El Melloi II's Case Files anime is also worth watching after UBW, Zero, and Apocrypha but before Strange Fake due to some tangentially related character relationships.
I also personally recommend experiencing the 3 Stay Night routes' story before Zero as that's the original release order and Zero spoils a few big reveals in the F/SN plot that hit better when learned during the F/SN story, imo.
Etheo2026-01-29 13:37
Mythical heroes and figures summoned by mages to fight each other for the holy grail. Except there are a lot of crazy stuff happening that break your expectations.
If you're interested I highly recommend starting with Fate Stay/Night (Unlimited Blade Works is a decent starting point if you don't mind looking up some stuff yourself) first to understand the "game format" somewhat before diving into this one for the reason stated above. Fate:Zero is also a great one where things are a lot more "normal" I suppose.
Other Fate series basically have the same underlying format as a starting point but go crazy in their own ways. There are watch order guides easily searchable if you're interested.
Live_Bother_75172026-01-29 14:00
Thank you all for guidance. It's such a nice community.
jer23562026-01-29 14:21
This is part of the Fate Franchise which consists of various series that is often exist within their own timeline/continuity but is part of a larger Cosmology/Multiverse
The Basic Conceit of Fate is three things; Heroic Spirit, Holy Grail and Holy Grail War
HEROIC SPIRIT is any person that make their mark in Human History and consists of Historical, mythological and even Literary characters.
HOLY GRAIL is an Artifact of unimaginable magical power. Said to grant wishes.
HOLY GRAIL WAR is an event where people (usually Mages) summon HEROIC SPIRITS as SERVANTS thus becoming their MASTER. A Master and Servant Pair must face off other Master & Servant to Claim the Holy Grail, thus HOLY GRAIL WAR.
What the Holy Grail is does change in several Fate series
What the Holy Grail War is varies in a lot of Fate series

DragoSphere2026-01-29 12:55
Saberface *is* an official term actually
And she's explicitly not one, nor is she related to Takeuchi's Takeuchi-isms
LeloThePGG2026-01-29 12:58
It's not a question of it being an official term, but rather a specific design style that is also noted in-universe. Jeanne d'Arc is considered a Saberface, for example (Gilles specifically confuses Artoria for her). Gray from Case Files is also one for plot reasons, and noted as such.
Meanwhile True Rider has a similar hairstyle, but it's not intended to be a Saberface in-universe.
Skyreader132026-01-29 13:15
How is she a saberface?
She neither remotely look like saber norhave any relation to saber
InertMaterials2026-01-29 13:51
She has Saber's hair, that's all.
PowerfulRoom8132026-01-29 12:28
She's so beautiful, caught my attention immediately the moment she appeared and uppercuts the other archer.
Shizuki Morii cooked with the design.
Uberdragon_bajulabop2026-01-29 12:56
*avenger. Alcides is an avenger here.
wloff2026-01-29 13:01
I need a goddamn spreadsheet to keep up with all these people, servants, not-quite-people, and not-quite-servants in this show.
They call it a Fake Holy Grail War, I call it a clusterfuck. But a really cool clusterfuck.
8andahalfby112026-01-29 14:09
Welcome to Narita. Durarara, Baccano, and DMDP were like this too.
Mission-Job-80132026-01-29 14:35
Dead Mount Death Play still is, and it's only getting worse with Gaku appearing
RoseSpinoza2026-01-29 15:13
........................y'know, now that you mention it, "clusterfuck" would be a funny alternate translation for "Baccano". (which means "ruckus" in Italian. )
And yeah, "really cool cluserfuck" is apt for Narita works :D .
Hexenmommies012026-01-29 15:33
Yeah, combine a big cast along with non-linear and several switching POVs and its gonna look daunting, but trust the process, when several points starts to converge, its gonna be cathartic to see the way all pieces starts connecting to each other.
The war is also only 7 days, so we are definetly gonna see some scenes thats running parallel to one another.
I haven't watched DMDP yet, but Baccano and DRRR, its a journey.
Cross_Toss2026-01-29 16:18
DMDP is a bit calmer since there is a definitive protagonist
Ashteron2026-01-29 16:44
And then you get into the manga and it turns out there's a parallel storyline in the fantasy world and a prequel with all 3 of them constantly complementing each other.
Careful_Ad_90772026-01-29 15:39
I enjoy chaos dragon because of how much gen and nasu made narita suffer.
8andahalfby112026-01-29 16:07
Chaos Dragon is a mediocre fantasy that becomes a hilarious literary comedy once you realize who is playing the characters and have seen enough of their works.
Careful_Ad_90772026-01-29 16:20
My favorite part is that gen was molesting people so much that they changed his gender for the anime.
Mistral-Fien2026-01-29 18:43
So that's why he works in Nitroplus. :P
SolomonBlack2026-01-29 17:51
To be fair the Grail War has always been officially a clusterfuck that has ended in failure and strayed far from its original purpose.
aohige_rd2026-01-29 15:16
Ah the usual Ryogo "let's have like a hundred different perspectives and small stories going on all at the same time" Narita shenanigans
ParasaurolophusZ2026-01-29 17:50
Welcome to Fate/strange fake, where everything is both strange and fake!
Golden-Owl2026-01-29 13:03
Well Heracles absolutely has reasons to hold a lot of resentment
n080dy1232026-01-29 14:09
He's both, though he was summoned *as* an Archer, the Avenger status got tacked on later. So he's still generally refered to as an Archer.
Sa4042026-01-29 16:29
he's said to be half avenger in the LN tbf
ZhuTeLun2026-01-29 17:06
Both actually
JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-29 18:00
He's both.
PotatEXTomatEX2026-01-29 18:47
He aint tho. He's an archer 100% just with Avenger skills.
messem102026-01-29 16:40
She looks like the FMC from [the manhwa *The Spark In Your Eyes*](https://m.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/the-spark-in-your-eyes/list?title_no=3210) which is really good. Similar combat style as well.
LavaLightning2026-01-29 12:47
Does the fate series have an order to watch? Like is every fate series in the same universe? really wanna watch them in order, but i feel like every fate anime is different than the other
WhiteEyesBlueBoy2026-01-29 12:54
Main story:
* Fate/stay night (2006)
* Unlimited Blade Works (2014)
* Heaven's Feel Trilogy
Prequel:
* Fate/Zero (I wouldn't watch this first, at least watch Stay Night first)
The rest are Spinoffs.
princesoceronte2026-01-29 14:15
I'd add that if you wanna watch Fate Strange/Fake watching Fate/Zero seems like a good idea, maybe even the Lord El-Melloi Case Files show if the synopsis sounds cool to you.
QcDiablo2026-01-29 14:19
I'd like to add that watching the main story in anime release order gives a better flow for story details (e.g. 2006 gives a bunch of basic information that Unlimited Blade Works doesn't even if it's an alternative route of the same events).
However 2006 is quite dated so many people start with Unlimited Blade Works or Zero if they don't really like 2006.
_sabsub_2026-01-29 16:41
I started with the 2006 studio deen fate and while its dated and not canon route in the vn, I'm really glad I did because unlimited blade works wouldn't have made as much sense to me. IMO if you can you really should start with studio deen version.
oops_i_made_a_typi2026-01-29 20:58
i'd strongly disagree, 2006 is a whole full series of "homework" that ruins plot points of the canon routes via it's non-canon mishmash of them.
Just start with UBW+HF or Zero and call it a day.
exswoo2026-01-29 12:54
Technically no but best to start with either the original or Infinite Blade Works before watching the others so that you get the basics of the world down
exian122026-01-29 15:01
I know it's essentially the same but calling it Infinite instead of Unlimited is kinda sus
exswoo2026-01-29 15:02
Sorry I had the kanji name in mind and translated it back
RGL20032026-01-29 13:04
I started with Fate/Zero myself and i'm glad i did because i would not be a fate fan otherwise. Fate/UBW is more like a typical shonen, so if you like that i guess theres not a wrong order to start.
DragoSphere2026-01-29 13:06
They're largely standalone stories, and often take place in alternate timelines.
You can watch this one right now if you want to follow along weekly with discussions live (make sure you start with episode 0, Whispers of Dawn), and you'll probably be able to mostly get it
A more solid starting point is Fate/Zero, which gives you more context and a gentler introduction to the universe
The actual beginning of the franchise is Fate/Stay Night, which is a visual novel with 3 routes if you're interested in that format.
The reason there are so many arguments about where to start the anime is because Ufotable only adapted routes 2 and 3, while route 1 only has a poor adaptation from 2006. And Zero is a prequel so it spoils a ton from Fate/Stay Night, so purists will get upset if you recommend it first
Caliment2026-01-29 13:14
Start wherever you want, watch the rest and recognize things from the original thing you watch. No need to worry about too much.
Skyreader132026-01-29 13:20
Pick your entry point:
* Fate Stay Night (original, typical Shounen), or the alt storyline
* Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks (anime one, not the movie. much better animated than the original. done by Ufotable), or
* Fate Zero (prequel to FSN, kinda). A bit edgier and more mature compared to FSN. Written by Urobuchi. Animated by Ufotable
Then you can go to any Fate media
There's also alt storyline to FSN called **Heaven's Feel** but this one is meant to be watched after either the original FSN or Unlimited Bladeworks route.
atropicalpenguin2026-01-29 13:36
It's not an alt storyline, it's a route. There's no "main" Stay Night route. Fate, UBW and Heaven's Feel are all part of a single game.
Skyreader132026-01-29 14:24
What do you call them? I call it that way for convenience sake
paradoxaxe2026-01-29 13:32
IMO outside FSF, you can start from anywhere be it Apocrypha, OG FSN, Zero etc.
atropicalpenguin2026-01-29 13:35
r/fatestaynight has a watch order.
supportenergy2026-01-29 14:11
Watch Fate/Zero first. It explains the protagonists and antagonists of Fate/Stay Night and how everyone is connected.
Yeah most Fates are spinoffs so different timelines but same/similar universe. This guide might help you.
**Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works**
\- [Unlimited Blade Works Episode 0](https://myanimelist.net/anime/27821/Fate_stay_night__Unlimited_Blade_Works_Prologue)
\- [Unlimited Blade Works Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/22297/Fate_stay_night__Unlimited_Blade_Works)

**Fate Stay Night Heavens Feel Movie Trilogy**

\- [Third](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33050/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_III_Spring_Song)
**Fate Zero** this is a prequel to Fate/Stay Night, but is meant to be watched after as it's a prequel **sequel**. This is pretty much the end of the *main* fate series so everything after this is watchable generally whenever.
**Today's Menu for the Emiya Family** (cute short 13min episodes with really nice art style from Ufotable. Features the Fate Stay Night cast. Last like 3-4 minutes of each episode is about a food recipe) Not a mandatory watch.
\- [Season 1](https://www.myanimelist.net/anime/37033)
**Lord El Melloi II** Best watched after Fate Zero. Takes place during and after Stay/Night.
**Fate Apocrypha** Usually the first spinoff I recommend after El Melloi. The Third Grail War never concluded in this timeline so F/Z and F/SN don't happen.
**Fate Extra** - This anime is a loose adaptation of the Fate Extra game. It adapts a route that does not actually happen in it. Not the greatest adaptation, but a unique one. It's animated by Studio SHAFT, having a very Madoka-iy look. (Season 1 is the first batch of episodes, the last 3 came out later due to production issues)
\- [Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33047)
\- [Last 3 Episodes](https://myanimelist.net/anime/37651)
Also the game is receiving a remake coming out next year. [Trailer here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJNxMqkgThs) (note it was delayed to 2026) I'd personally suggest seeing it after playing the game at this stage since it's so close.
**Fate Grand Order** An adaptation of the Fate/Grand Order gacha game. It's not the best but it generally serves its purpose. Some of it will be way better than the others. First Order is the prologue of the game, and then skips 5 arcs to Camelot so it's gonna be a bit of a jarring jump. Just keep that in mind and you'll be fine. Not totally 1:1 but if you've played the Persona games think of FGO as palaces on a world level.

\-- [Moonlight Lostroom](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36915) (can honestly skip this ova. it is insanely confusing if you haven't played FGO.)
**Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya**
(this anime is ultra controversial, there are elementary school girls tongue kissing in it. A shame because it's **actually** a really good story. You can skip if you'd like. There's two really great characters that make an appearance in it that unfortunately don't have any other current anime appearances. They will show up in Carnival Phantasm at the bottom of this list, which is a gag anime.)

(For Fate Illya you can skip the OVAs and shorts. While there is some comedy that ISNT attached to lolicon bait, pretty much all of it is. The only one I wouldn't skip is Movie 1 OVA Sakuras Room)
**Fate Strange Fake** Fate Strange Fake is a love letter to the Fate series from Ryohgo Narita, author most famous for Baccano and Durarara (both excellent series with excellent anime adaptations). Strange Fake started airing on January 3rd 2026. If you're wondering why I put it down here, it's because it contains references big and small to pretty much everything above. You can technically watch it after Apocrypha, or El Melloi or even Zero, but you'd be missing some really cool references. It's a story that's greatly enhanced by knowledge, as much of it as possible.
\- [Episode 0: Whispers of Dawn](https://www.myanimelist.net/anime/53127) (watch this first)
\- [Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/55830/Fate_strange_Fake) (started January 3rd 2026)
**Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners**
Garden of Sinners is Nasu's first work, and these movies are PHENOMENAL. Animated by ufotable. You'll be immensely surprised how beautiful the animation is given they were releasing from 2007 to 2013. They're ordered in release order. Should be noted the stories themselves are chronologically all over the place but it's intended.
\--[Manners Movies](https://myanimelist.net/anime/23697) (these stop motion shorts played in theaters to tell the audience to mind their manners. Very cute. I suggest interweaving them with each movie.)

**Mahoyo/Witch on the Holy Night** (Technically prequel to Tsukihime, leads me to believe Ufotable will do a Tsukihime anime adaptation afterwards)
\- [Movie](https://myanimelist.net/anime/50668) (not out yet, but this is most probably where I'd put it.)
[Here's a trailer.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML10KNGEif8)
**Carnival Phantasm** - Time for the treats. Funny gag section of pretty much all of the Fate content you just watched. So many memes. Includes Tsukihime characters, but don't worry about it. Tsukihime will for sure get an anime adaptation at some point (totally not coping)

You could if you wanted to watch Fate 2006 at this point, as there's literally nothing else to watch but I'd play the VN for Fate route or wait hopefully for a ufotable adaptation.

goddamn this guide is big
YoloJoloHobo2026-01-29 19:48
To simplify it into similar continuities... **I'd recommend starting with the main series** regardless since it's the one most geared to newcomers. That, or the other big Nasuverse titles.
**Main series:** Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, Fate/Zero, Lord El Melloi II Case Files, Fate/strange Fake. (These are all in similar, *not same*, timelines but have direct relations).
**Extraverse**: Fate/Extra (+ remake with TBD release date, Fate/Extra Record), Fate/Extra CCC (has still serializing manga called Fate/Extra CCC Foxtail), Fate/Extella, Fate/Extella Link, Fate/Extra Last Encore (anime alt timeline weirdness)
**FGO**: Game with a linear storyline. The anime adapts only Ch. 0, 6, 7, Final of part 1 of the story. Its story is self-contained but is basically like the MCU with all the crossovers and references.
**Prototype:** Fate/Prototype (12 min OVA), Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver (LNs), Fate/Labyrinth (LN). Based off the original script of Fate/stay night, I would definitely not recommend starting here.
Every other Fate series is a standalone story. Apocrypha, Prisma Ilya, Samurai Remnant, etc...
**Wider Nasuverse:** Tsukihime (VN), Mahoyo (VN), KnK (LN/anime), FSN (VN). These are the OG standalones of all Type-Moon works and are their own self-contained stories. **You can enter any of these with absolutely zero knowledge** about the multiverse, as they were all designed as entry points.

There's just a lot of stuff, but honestly, you can just cut everything after Fate/Zero and replace it with "okay, now you know enough that you can watch everything else however you like".

No Elias wouldn't be summoned, he would just track her down and join her. He would still be alive and just sense her
GleamingGalacticGarm2026-01-29 23:47
Pretty typical for a Caster. If they don’t summon their own servant, it’ll be a Kaiju that can 1v6 the rest of the war. Chise could probably summon both.
The only question is if Chise would break the rules because no one told her it was impossible, or because she was told specifically not to break the rules.

Labmit2026-01-29 13:07
Fun fact, she is NOT a Saberface. The LN author explicitly confirmed this. She is, however, confirmed to be a Saberhair.
69Deckerspawn2026-01-29 13:53
Same thing ToT. Who the hell cares ngl. She look similar enough.
n080dy1232026-01-29 14:08
I believe there are actually lore implications to being a Saberface, though said implications may themselves be a meme. But also, Saberface is an actual passive trait possessed by characters in FGO which causes certain enemy units (like Lancelot and Gilles de Rais) to specifically target a Saberface and ignore other units.
SolomonBlack2026-01-29 16:37
Saying that merely confirms just how 100% that it is the case dear author.
Its not like an ancient Breton, a Roman emperor, a Vietnamese rebel, and a Bakumatsu period Japanese person would **really** all have the same face and no saying they somehow do but for some epicanthic folds is both silly and I dare say nothing anyone has actually said. To say nothing of the French saint and... literally Artoria but with boobs... who *actually look different* but nevertheless are Saberfaces.
You don't want a Saberface tell your illustrator.
It's an art trope/joke, depiction is reality.

getterburner2026-01-29 19:04
I mean Gray is a Saber face and in the same anime you can just compare their faces lol
DragoSphere2026-01-29 22:50
Yeah you can see Gray has a sharper face and sharper eyes in this artstyle
The hair does a lot of carrying when it comes to anime-style impression, but the face is definitely different. It just doesn't come across super well in a vacuum
JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-29 17:59
It's actually 100% intended.
PerseusRad2026-01-29 17:20
I would not have even considered the idea that she was meant to be a Saberface (even though she's not) until others brought it up, just doesn't really seem like one to me.
kawaii_song2026-01-29 21:25
When she was first revealed in the LN, the author pointed out the hairstyle. A lot of readers then presumed she was a Saberface, which is why the clarification is needed.

Yes but ideally you should watch ubw or zero first or at the very least have a typemoon friend handy. There's a lot of terms thrown around quickly that they don't really explain because it's assumed you are familiar with the franchise.

Pretty Rider is pretty. Bless the garters.

TIL she is Rider?
It was very confusing in the 3 way battle with an Archer that doesn't use bows and a Rider who almost always use Bows.
Thraggrotusk2026-01-29 18:35
rider = anyone with a closely associated mount
archer = anyone that uses ranged projectiles
getterburner2026-01-29 19:07
She uses a spear in that fight and notably uses a horse the entire fight basically.

If you are going to watch the three (which I recommand a lot), do UBW -> HF -> Zero, better watch order.
Every time that fucking Sieg gets into frame I fast forward to the next scene.
I also personally recommend experiencing the 3 Stay Night routes' story before Zero as that's the original release order and Zero spoils a few big reveals in the F/SN plot that hit better when learned during the F/SN story, imo.
And she's explicitly not one, nor is she related to Takeuchi's Takeuchi-isms
Meanwhile True Rider has a similar hairstyle, but it's not intended to be a Saberface in-universe.
She neither remotely look like saber norhave any relation to saber
Shizuki Morii cooked with the design.
They call it a Fake Holy Grail War, I call it a clusterfuck. But a really cool clusterfuck.
And yeah, "really cool cluserfuck" is apt for Narita works :D .
The war is also only 7 days, so we are definetly gonna see some scenes thats running parallel to one another.
I haven't watched DMDP yet, but Baccano and DRRR, its a journey.
* Fate/stay night (2006)
* Unlimited Blade Works (2014)
* Heaven's Feel Trilogy
Prequel:
* Fate/Zero (I wouldn't watch this first, at least watch Stay Night first)
The rest are Spinoffs.
However 2006 is quite dated so many people start with Unlimited Blade Works or Zero if they don't really like 2006.
Just start with UBW+HF or Zero and call it a day.
And Zero is a prequel so it spoils a ton from Fate/Stay Night, so purists will get upset if you recommend it first
* Fate Stay Night (original, typical Shounen), or the alt storyline
* Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks (anime one, not the movie. much better animated than the original. done by Ufotable), or
* Fate Zero (prequel to FSN, kinda). A bit edgier and more mature compared to FSN. Written by Urobuchi. Animated by Ufotable
Then you can go to any Fate media
There's also alt storyline to FSN called **Heaven's Feel** but this one is meant to be watched after either the original FSN or Unlimited Bladeworks route.
Viewing order guide from Fate subreddit.

\- [Third](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33050/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_III_Spring_Song)
**Fate Zero** this is a prequel to Fate/Stay Night, but is meant to be watched after as it's a prequel **sequel**. This is pretty much the end of the *main* fate series so everything after this is watchable generally whenever.
\- [Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/10087/Fate_Zero)

**Today's Menu for the Emiya Family** (cute short 13min episodes with really nice art style from Ufotable. Features the Fate Stay Night cast. Last like 3-4 minutes of each episode is about a food recipe) Not a mandatory watch.

**Lord El Melloi II** Best watched after Fate Zero. Takes place during and after Stay/Night.

\- [Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/38959)
\- [Movie: Magic Lantern](https://myanimelist.net/anime/49361)
**Fate Apocrypha** Usually the first spinoff I recommend after El Melloi. The Third Grail War never concluded in this timeline so F/Z and F/SN don't happen.
\- [Season 1](https://myanimelist.net/anime/34662)

Other things that might interest you (all steam links)
[Fate Stay Night Remastered](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2396980/Fatestay_night_REMASTERED/) - The remaster of the OG visual novel. Strongly recommend playing.

[Witch on the Holy Night](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2052410/WITCH_ON_THE_HOLY_NIGHT/) - Witch on the Holy Night visual novel. Getting an anime movie from ufotable as mentioned earlier.
Tsukihime - Visual novel of Tsukihime, not currently on steam but the remake is on switch and ps4.
[Fate Samurai Remnant](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1902690/FateSamurai_Remnant/) - Action RPG set in the Edo period. I have not yet played it myself but it has very positive reviews.

[Fate Extella Link](https://store.steampowered.com/app/622220/FateEXTELLA_LINK/) - Sequel to Fate Extella
The only question is if Chise would break the rules because no one told her it was impossible, or because she was told specifically not to break the rules.
>Saying that merely confirms just how 100% that it is the case dear author.
All he means is that the resemblance is unintended lol.
The hair does a lot of carrying when it comes to anime-style impression, but the face is definitely different. It just doesn't come across super well in a vacuum
My favorite part is that there is now a rise in fanart of her since there were only 5 when she was just known to LN and manga readers.
It was very confusing in the 3 way battle with an Archer that doesn't use bows and a Rider who almost always use Bows.
archer = anyone that uses ranged projectiles
welcome to Fate classes
