By the way since when were moving profile pictures a thing?
I wonder how that works, i tried to change to one but it didn't work.
Thank you.
>The word "corporation" derives from corpus, the Latin word for body, or a "body of people". By the time of Justinian (reigned 527–565), Roman law recognized a range of corporate entities under the names Universitas, corpus or collegium
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporation#History
You learn something new everyday, I had thought they would have been created during the industrial revolution or maybe a century or 2 before that.
In current time they don't seem to even have vehicles or any kind of automated mechanical power; having to crank a ballista type weapon, using horses, falling back to bows and arrows instead of gunpowdered weapons. So enough time passed from the first collapse to get back to WW1 level tech and enough time has passed from that collapse to forget how to make engines and firearms.
Dude was brought to another world only to get sentenced to die over and over again until he's not even there anymore. He's now just a berserker who throws himself at demon blight and otherwise breathes so he doesn't die before the next fight.
Also LOL, Venetim’s crime is that he wrote a tabloid article that ended up being true. This guy is Nostradamus or something.
Venetim's scenes confirm demons have infiltrated the ruling elites. Him getting Xylo everything he wanted except the pardon shows the usefulness of having 100 Speech.
The punishment doesnt make sense to me. Instead of covering it up, which i assume they still did, they just made him into a hero. If they're so convinced that people will believe whatever he says making him a hero wouldnt have changed anything and ended up making them look petty at best
If they just killed him, there might be people who believe that he was being silenced and what he wrote was actually true.
Killing Venitim risks someone thinking he was *silenced* for what he said instead of *executed* for his crimes.
He's being discredited as a "Hero." Scum of the Earth that have been punished with a fate worse than death. Inhuman monsters that all revile and no one trusts. Disposable trash not even worthy of oblivion, they must suffer, and suffer, and suffer again and still never atone for their crimes.
Just by virtue of being a Hero, no one will listen to him. And not just any Hero, but a Hero convicted of being a conman. Whose lies were so dangerous, execution was deemed too much of a mercy.
But now people will just assume everything he has ever said is not just a lie, but a dangerous lie.
Jokes aside, I also think that's what the modification of his seal was, to keep him silent. He obviously still has the silver tongue and can talk his way into getting things.
I wonder if all the heroes we see have a twisted reason like this too and if there's someone who that actually deserved this punishment.
Venetim’s a pretty slick talker. That seems to have landed him in some hot water. Dude actually stumbled upon a pretty big conspiracy. I mean the fact there are those in the upper echelons of society that are spies and Demon aligned is pretty huge.
Looking forward to seeing how our little suicide squad does against this demon. Let’s hope no one dies…
Also the idea that demons have infiltrated the upper echelon means there's a good justification for someone stirring the pot to create interesting and engaging situations.
> How tf they gonna try and dissect Teoritta? Not only is her sword ability not useless, she’s also so damn cute!
To be a devils advocate if they manage to mass produce goddesses it's pretty much wraps for the demons. These 12 goddesses are doing an okay job of managing the 50+ demon lords.
The story behind his sentencing was funny and disturbing at the same time. He intended to fabricate stories but inadvertently came up with a true one. Demons masquerading as humans is certainly terrifying, and seeing as Venetim got punished for publicising it, means that they must have some in the position of influence. Could they also be involved in Xylo's sentencing?
PS: If the military wanted a useless goddess to analyse, may I suggest Aqua?
I’m fairly confident that these pawns of the Demon Lords are the ones who pushed for Xylo’s conviction. Framing him as a criminal would be relatively easy if they had people in high places.
They probably do not want word to get out that goddesses can turn evil too. In fact, they might be banking on them getting corrupted with time.
This also makes me wonder if the plan to abandon the trapped miners, some of which had been corrupted by the Demon Blight, was part of a conspiracy.
Why do you think the trapped miners was a conspiracy? To see how the demon lord/blight takes over humans as part of some giant experiment? I took it as the higher powers are just shitty and don't value human lives - they are corrupt and infiltrated so a handful of miners from a small town mean nothing.
~~Tsav~~ Kazuma agrees
And seriously is the reason they're all supposed to die just meant to be a "fuck you" or am I missing something here?
Or have created self-fulfilling prophecies, like saying a company is in financial distress which causes their share price to tank, thus creating a real financial distress.
There is a whole history of government actors paying or associating with conspiracy theorists.
FOR EXAMPLE
It is a real thing that in the United States slavery is legal, and that you can force someone, whose only crime is possessing drugs, by threat of violence/solitary to make things for companies like Boeing or even the US Military.
That's all verifiably true.
But if Alex Jones said that shit you'd instantly dismiss it in your head (with good reason the dude is a grifter of the utmost degree). So if the government wanted to discredit future people who wanted to push for carceral reform you could have Alex Jones say it, so the folks who are pushing for reform get lumped in with a fucking crazy person.
We have at least 4 different factions: Heroes, Holy Knights, The Church and The Blight
And all have slightly opposing and slightly overlapping goals.
The Church has been very antagonistic so far, but I wonder: Are these the Demons in disguise and if so, are there any morally good church members?
So the humans have multiple goddesses who are active: Future sight, poison, lighting/storm and now swords
It'll be interesting when we'll meet them and how their lore will be expanded
Like, who \*actually\* decided to dissect Teoritta instead of putting her to use in the war?
Like maybe the Temple is deeply involved with the Blight in some way, doesn't want it fully destroyed, and is balancing their support to keep humanity on the brink. They need the Blight to spread, or want it to spread, are researching it, or want the Blight to destroy the Military faction as part of some power grab.
She made a flower bookmark for Xylo! **A flower Bookmark so he could stop reading and play with her!**
But no, we've got to deal with the fact that the Demon Blight have infiltrated multiple places of great power and the only guy who knows has a seal preventing him from saying it (and ironically didn't even know it was the truth until they told him).
How ironic that the guy/hero nobody believes in just so happens to be the guy with plenty to say and plenty of sway.
As for my first impression of the newly introduced hero (who I believe to be the team's resident sniper), Tsav--an unpredictable badass, but an absolute loose cannon nonetheless. No wonder Dotta would rather hangout with Venetim than Tsav (or prickly, no-fun Xylo)
* WTF do they mean dissect Teoritta because she's useless?! NO.
* Some interesting lore about the goddesses being excavated from ruins.
* Look at Kivia trying to act cool, just eat the cute bear-shaped ice cream.
* Tatsuya is a hero that was summoned by a goddess? We isekai now.
* Venetim speechcraft 100. Unlucky that his bullshitting led to him accidentally stumbling on the truth about demons working in the temple. I guess these demons were the ones who framed Xylo and probably trying to get Teoritta murdered too.
* Tsav also seems unhinged (which hero isn't).
Continuing to love how even though Xylo is so prickly, he's really a massive softie at heart and he actually cares about Teoritta and his teammates more than he lets on. His conversation with Kivia where his true feelings come out is just such a nice quiet show-don't-tell moment where you can really feel his complicated emotions and how much he actually cares for the goddesses as individuals, not simply weapons. It's also nice that he's willing to show his softer side when it counts—his continued reverence to Norgalle and his confidence in Venetim both feel like real indications of genuine trust.
On the other hand, most of the officials and powers that be seem pretty bad from the sense we've got. In important lore news, we also learned that the Church and the Military seem to be somewhat opposed to each other—I'll be interested to see where that goes from here.
Dotta really can't help himself, can he :)
Not murdered, corrupted, like they tried with the previous goddess. They're trying to create a Demon Goddess.
Overall, [it was a peaceful episode](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyq5rxvny2), though it dropped a lot of bombshells and [lore](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/2bd364c6e047.png) about [the Goddesses](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/81f61e007724.png) and other things, like [Tatsuya being a summoned hero from another world](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/9f77a1af2f01.png).
I wonder if we'll meet [the other Goddesses](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/15a3104165b3.png), since they were mentioned during the mission reveal. Maybe we'll at least meet [the one who can create poison](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/653f8c0bcef6.png)?
So [Venetim](https://imgchest.com/p/5xy2n88mzyl) was a con artist, huh? But he wasn't convicted of trying to sell the palace to the circus, but of [a fake article](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/7899ebd5ba73.png). By the way, since I didn't quite understand, was the article true, or did it just look like it might be?
[Tsav seemed like a funny guy](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/6005711e1664.png), especially thanks to Kazuma's voice, but after [he cut off that guy's arm](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/36b8051deb70.png), my perception of him changed a lot and [now he seems like a really dangerous guy](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/f230fba2dd34.png).
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

*EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.*
I wonder if they are all like Teorrita and basically kid or at least kid-sized.
The reality of how the military was willing to go as far as to dissect Teoritta just to be able to gain an upper hand in the war was honestly scary. Imagine if Xylo never met her she would be on a dissection table.
Kivia seems to have lightened up a bit on Xylo too. And it was cute how she pretended to not like the ice cream.
We’re getting some lore and worldbuilding bit by bit each episode. Got a bit about the goddesses and how other military divisions have one with them. We got a glimpse of their ability but I wonder what they’re like
It also helps that she was paired with the guy who explodes swords. Though the fact he mentions his abilities are the result of these "sacred seals" on Episode 1 makes me think that **anyone could do what Xylo does** (if they had similar levels of luminescense) so it's odd that they never thought of giving a "exploding swords guy" the "create swords" goddess
And earlier in the episode (later on the timeline) Xylo says the exploding trick is the result of only 2 sacred seals "light" and "heat".
Also the guy who sentenced Venetim to be a hero reminded me instantly of the Principal from Sanda - same vibes all around.
Venetim: *makes it*
Venetim: "....shit"
- [Suuuure, Teoritta.](https://i.imgur.com/BVC0wvc.png) [](#tsundereblush)
- [Kinda hard to picture Xylo as a poet.](https://i.imgur.com/4h7ptuw.png) [](#thinkingtoohard)
- [Oh damn…](https://i.imgur.com/JNrBVWN.png) Definitely sounds like sticking with Xylo is better than whatever the military was going to do.
- [Wait, Tatsuya was isekai’d?!](https://i.imgur.com/DzLcMDq.png) [](#flyingbunsofdoom) *That’s* why he has a Japanese-sounding name when everyone else doesn’t?
- [Oh, she had enough money for Kivia to have one too.](https://i.imgur.com/FrPdbfS.png)
- [A literal suicide mission, fun…](https://i.imgur.com/z9uszVR.png) [](#elves)
- [Damn, this is ridiculously harsh.](https://i.imgur.com/KGInSxA.png) [](#whatdidijustread)
- [Oh…?](https://i.imgur.com/bCf9xcy.png) [](#curious)
- [LMAO, wow.](https://i.imgur.com/pMmI0YO.png) [](#azusalaugh)
- [That fake article is true, huh…](https://i.imgur.com/RXcZPIT.png) [](#emiliaohdear)
- [Welp.](https://i.imgur.com/6zYPVYM.png) That’s one way to introduce a new guy.
A con artist sentenced to capital punishment for *not* conning the masses is crazy.
No surprise the heroes live in actual cells, not that that's stopping them from walking out (but then the explosive collars and revives are the main restraint). At least even they get some downtime.
They were going to do what to Teoritta?! Between the obnoxious priests and hardheaded military, are they that stupid or desperate to try that? Funny hearing Kivia describe ice cream in her normal dead-serious tone, and she's probably still one of the nicer captains. So now a literal suicide mission, and Xylo's got to worry about "proving" Teoritta's worth. At least they've got another lunatic hero to back them up.
[Welp, so much for being repaired back to normal.](https://i.imgur.com/OcpDgpF.png) Where's that guy from last week's discussion thread who said that Norgalle's sacrifice means less impactful because they have "Dr. Frankenstein magic"?
[I definitely had the same reaction as Teoritta](https://i.imgur.com/b9PnVIy.png) when Xylo said he's reading poetry and he would've been a poet [if he hadn't joined the military.](https://i.imgur.com/0R58Tiy.png) That actually makes him even more interesting as a character.
[Look at Dad and Mom out on a stroll with their daughter.](https://i.imgur.com/3bzh7YM.png) That scene was adorable. I just love [seeing Teoritta's reactions to everything](https://i.imgur.com/HWLESpL.png) and [Kivia slightly blushing](https://i.imgur.com/CC2KhEI.png) when she was telling Xylo about ice cream. xD
Damn... [So Teoritta was basically going to be experimented on](https://i.imgur.com/sfrEnHZ.png) because the fuckers in the military wanted to try making new Goddesses? I can't believe I'm [siding with the Church on this one.](https://i.imgur.com/W18UMkK.png)
[We get to see a preview of the other Goddesses!](https://imgur.com/a/CW1hB1A) I can't wait to meet them all in the future and it looks like we might meet the Poison Goddess soon since she'll be involve in their next operation.
[Oh, damn that was unexpected!](https://i.imgur.com/WtGrppS.png) So the reason Tatsuya is the only one with an overtly Japanese name is that he's an isekai-jin. That's why he's also voiced by Matsuoka! I feel like we need a Tatsuya backstory.
Absolutely brutal that [Xylo's team are being told to die](https://i.imgur.com/lU65Ryn.png) for a mission just because [he upset that one fucking bishop.](https://i.imgur.com/IWJL0lu.png) Okay, forget what I said earlier, I'm against the Church again. >_<
It's awesome how every single hero are interesting character. [Venetim being a conman who can get whatever he wants](https://i.imgur.com/lOnRsYI.png), using his silver tongue is awesome, plus his backstory of [writing a fake conspiracy article about Demon Blight pretending to be humans turning out to be true](https://i.imgur.com/XmreVDo.png) was hilarious! It is terrifying to know tho that Demons are walking among them. O_O
[And we have one more interesting character added to the mix!](https://i.imgur.com/8CrD42E.png) Tsave is absolutely crazy, and he's even voiced by Fukushima Jun! I already can't wait to see more of him
How could anyone ever think of dissecting this adorable thing? Just look at that happy face when she’s all excited! Xylo will hopefully keep his promise that he’ll protect Teoritta at all costs.
Not to mention beforehand! Teoritta tried so hard to get her dad to take her out to the festival (without admitting she wanted to go) or at the very least play with her instead of reading his book.
She even made him a bookmark with flowers just so he could put it down!
It's nice to know that the church isn't the ultimate evil in this world. Turns out sometimes the military are the ones making really bad decisions!
No wonder Kivia looks so guilty around Teoritta knowing she had a part to play in a fate only avoided because of Dotta and Xylo.
> [Oh, damn that was unexpected!](https://i.imgur.com/WtGrppS.png) So the reason Tatsuya is the only one with an overtly Japanese name is that he's an isekai-jin.
Terrible fucking backstory if true. Imagine being isekai'd to a fantasy world and then getting sentenced to the worst punishment the world has to offer: being sent to fight and die over and over and over again until eventually you lose so much of yourself that you basically become a living zombie, or a trained animal.
> [Venetim's] backstory of [writing a fake conspiracy article about Demon Blight pretending to be humans turning out to be true](https://i.imgur.com/XmreVDo.png) was hilarious! It is terrifying to know tho that Demons are walking among them. O_O
It was hilarious in the ironic sense, but god damn terrifying once you actually put any thought into it.
And so much makes sense when you realise this! Why was Xylo and his former goddess sent into a battle they couldn't win that would end up exhausting his goddess's power, making her vulnerable to the blight? Why did the church reject the idea that a goddess could be corrupted by the blight so quickly?
Not to say there aren't bad humans in these positions and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some non-Demon Blight spy who wanted in on that plan for some reason, but it all makes sense when you realise the Demon Blight was manoeuvring them to its own advantage!
New mission means new heroes, and this episode reunites all of our existing ones. Tsav seems like he will definitely being causing headaches for everyone.
We also got our second big backstory reveal, with Venetim. At first they seemed to be going with "Oh well at least he is a criminal", but they made it pretty damn clear that is not even remotely what got him in trouble. Rather accidentally revealing demon infiltration. So seems likely we are getting a traitor in this arc. Although sentencing Venetim to be a hero feels more like being petty to the point that it's actively hurting your side, since you leave a person out there who now knows for sure that crap he made up is real, and even if the public won't buy it there is a chance his squadmates and sympathetic soldiers might.
We got a family festival date, with Dad (Xylo), Mom (Kivia) and there darling daughter Teoritta. And the whole suicidal defense was Kivia feeling guilty about leaving Teoritta to be dissected (although taking your soldiers with you kind of feels sus). Although I get nervous...feels like Kivia each episode edges herself just a bit closer to get getting her own hero sentence. Wonder if she herself will stay behind with a regiment of soldiers to help with the defense.
Also that kill the demon lord plan seems more about just abusing the heroes than anything else. Demon already survived your poison attack...if anything it's probably more tolerant!
My head canon now is Tatsuya is just Subaru after too many death loops....
Honestly I don't understand the thought behind this plan at all as it seems pretty braindead. Why not just send the heroes to kill the demon lord instead ‐ they literally killed 2 in such a short time, what's one more? Unless they want that poison goddess to show her power off and gain more praise/following? I'm still not sure if praise makes them stronger since Teo is always asking for it lol
Also part of me thinks that goddess isn't exactly "good" one. I'm still on the team that the demon lords are failed experimental goddesses.
I thought so too! [Xylo](https://imgchest.com/p/ne7bnkkrm75) and [Kivia](https://imgchest.com/p/o24an88dd7l) really looked like [Teoritta](https://imgchest.com/p/vj4jngk9x78)'s parents when [they wandered through the festival together](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/32fc2d5a4929.png) in [today's episode](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyq5rxvny2).
But on a serious note all the reveals with the goddesses and especially with Venetim towards the end where great and probably a lot more connected to what happened to Xylo also.
I am really curious even more now about the goddesses what exactly are they and from where they come we got some crumbs of information here with the ruins and them going back to slumber after fighting demons but its just the surface.
And Tatsuya being from another world ?
The big reveal was Kivia loving ice cream and teoritta being so cute she needs to be protected.
No I mean Venetim stumbling and bullshiting his way to the biggest conspiracy of the world and turning out to be true that demon spies have infiltrated ???
This changes quite a lot of things and also probably connected to Xylo and what happened to him.
This was a great episode to world build and build up things to come and Venetim being the bullshit master was fun.
I have a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m2SlrQGMUs) review if anyone is interested. Thank You.
So Venetim accidentally revealed the truth and the best thing the dumbasses did is make him a hero instead of silencing him? I dont get it
Ooh, the poison goddess might show up soon, you say?
...Lizard people. There are lizard people in the government. Okay.
Maybe he was reading some Doujins
That must've been the work of Venetim - at it again with his lies lol
At the start we had Xylo, who wanted to read in peace, and Teoritta, who was giving it anything but that. Of course, as Kivia wanted to talk to Xylo, Teoritta played it for going to the great exchange. She had a blast, and we got a nice view of world building. I liked how Teoritta picked up that Kivia wanted sweets, and it showed a cute side of her.
Still, the main talk between Kivia & Xylo is disturbing. A revelation that Xylo actually saved Teoritta because she essentially was bound to be experimented on and dissected. Still, it is interesting that the anger Kivia had in episode 1 was not because Xylo was a hero. It was specifically because he was the goddess killer. Essentially, the military thinks if you can kill a goddess, then you can create one. Considering how powerful Teoritta is, imagining someone with an army of goddesses is terrifying.
This episode was a great showcase on Venetim. He has a very charismatic mouth, but he is a big liar about it. As he convinces the officer that it would be silly to kill them all off if one of them runs away. We can remember Dotta from episode 1 as a showcase of it likely to happen. They obviously can't refute that. Though we can tell talking out of his ass is out of habit because he says sure to Xylo asking for a pardon when it would be impossible to get it. Even more so the reason he is sentenced to be a hero is that the article he thought he bullshitted uncovered the truth of those among the church being aligned with the Demon Blight.
Still the mission of defending the fortress as a suicide mission to make sure that the 9th Goddess can poison Demon Lord Iblis. Obviously they can't refuse it, and it is to be expected. At least Venetim got better conditions for the mission.
At last we are introduced to Tsav, and like the majority of the heroes, he has a few screws loose.
And so we learn that the demons have already secretly taken over the government. Which explains a lot, like what happened to Xylo and Senerva. And reinforces my theory about Norgalle really being a part of the royal family.
Teoritta is adorable, I cannot believe the military were planning to dissect her. But Xylo and Kivia are obviously ready to do everything to protect their cute adopted daughter !
That new guy at the end seems to be the first hero we meet to really be a violent criminal, since we learned Tatsuya actually got summoned from another world (which explains his Japanese name, I guess). I wonder what he really is here for.
I wonder what's the special sacred seal placed on Venetim. I don't think it's simply that he can't say the truth or he has to always lie because he wouldn't be useful as a strategist that way. It was interesting to learn more about him this episode.
I'm really liking this development with Kivia, it does feel like she could end up becoming a hero too especially since we have yet to see a female one, but I'd also like there to be someone on the Holy Knights side that Xylo can get information from. It was sweet of Teoritta to get Kivia an ice treat as well.
In fact, Xylo deliberately gave Teoritta enough money for three scoops. You can tell by the tokens (they're different; if there were two scoops, they'd be the same). Bro simply noticed that Kivia really likes ice cream and treated her, but decided not to be demonstrative. LOL
She's just the best.
ahhhhh [i see the end game now](https://i.imgur.com/MkzSzQj.jpeg)
Hero x Family
Well, or they just sent him straight to the hero unit just because. Though not sure why they'd go to the effort.
Don't tell me it's... Toshihiko Seki???
