I know many people don't like it, but I love these MF Ghost episodes that focus on the characters' personal relationships.

Damn, Kanagawa to Niigata is quite a considerable distance, Kanata really has a lot of drive to do lol.

I had already seen the spoiler in the manga, but seeing Grandma driving the kei truck was incredible.

You can see how Ren is evolving as a person; she's let go of that "difficult attitude" and is slowly opening up.

And the scene of Kanata crying was something else; he had a difficult family life, imagine the weight of receiving love from other people.

A really good episode, I hope for more of this in the future.

The thing I don't understand with most of the people who presumably who watched Initial D but do not like MFG because they don't like the stuff with Ren but like... do you actually remember Initial D? In between the races there was a ton of downtime and most of it was significantly worse than a cute couple doing cute things together... like watching Takumi get cucked by Natsuki, watching Iketani chicken out and blow his chance with Mako, watching Itsuki get cucked in front of his own face, or watching Keisuke break the heart of a girl that lent him her car for a race.

At least this is lighthearted fun.

GTR: Grandma Truck Racing

Why did the animators make Kanata look like Takumi in the beginning of the episode when they were at the shrine?

So happy for Ren to grow closer to Kanata throughout the episode. It's nice to see a pairing where they can also tease each other. Really grounds the character nicely.

Grandma "running in the 90s" with that kei truck is pretty badass.

I definitely wasn't expecting to see 3D CG dragonfly in this show. A bit of a letdown not gonna lie.

If beckenbauer was here, he would have caught all the dragonflies. XD.

Nothing cute about a girl who punches you for not believing a fact you've never heard of before.

Ren's father being jealous of Ren because she gets to drive in Kanata's car is amusing lol.

Anyone else want to see what grandma would be capable of on a track in a proper race-car?

So, no more races in the wet.

Oh, summer.

So, that's the upgrades that are being planned for the car.

Special rice?

Ok...

Andastand.

And so they're off.

What's she doing?

Ok...

And now he's doing it too.

So, here's that famous rice.

They're going to ride in the back of the pickup?

Ok that would make sense if they're just sitting in the truck bed but standing up? I can see why the show says "do not try this at home".

Grandma drift lol.

And so, even in this episode with no racing we can still get our drifting and Eurobeat fix.

Lol she took a photo of him sleeping.

He grabbed her arm in his sleep!

Trouble?

Ok...

Lol so they're going to catch a dragonfly.

Huh. They actually did it.

Gonna be a lot more than just "practically" soon enough.

Well dang, somehow that was my favorite episode so far. Even got sweet bachan driving a kei truck! 😂

Grandma did a heel & toe just because she can.

Aint no way they used Eurobeat for Grannys Kei Truck shifting action lmao.

I love it

First his elbow, then punching him in the stomach, then hitting him with the net. They aren't even officially dating and Kanata's already a battered spouse.

Holyshit! Granma with that heel and toe outa nowhere, haha.

Curse this anime for airing in the winter. I'm already going through withdrawal and this made me want to drive my 86 even more. But I can't since it's hibernating.

* I like how they acted like Aiba's manager was a big deal in the last race, then never revealed to us who he is.

* 5 days since the race, wonder how Kanata will improve the 86 for the next race.

* I winder if Kanata remembers it was Ren who slapped hm after the first race.

* I like how she's talking as if she didn't cause him to receive an injury that might have cost him the race if it weren't for that adrenaline rush he got.

* Oooh, an engine swap? Wonder if that'll make him competitive against the German and diddy.

* He does need some aero parts, a wing would be nice.

* Didn't take long for England to receive strays.

* Watch him throw strays at England again, while walking through this forest.

* Ren's dad needs to chill, it's only an 86, sure Kanata's driving it, but I doubt he's going to do anything crazy with her in the car. Now if Kanata had a more expensive car, I can see him being jealous.

* We're really getting a eurobeat song for this?

* inb4 Kanata falls off the truck and injures his elbow again.

* Who the hell falls asleep that fast taking a nap? My naps usually consist of me laying down with my eyes closed for 30-60 minutes and I don't actually get much rest.

* Wow, creepy.

* He grabbed her wrist? That doesn't look very comfortable, maybe if he grabbed her bicep or something, just looks unnatural.

* How the fuck has Kanata never seen a dragonfly before?

* Imagine literally racing to a hardware store to buy a net so you can catch a dragonfly...

* At least he had some fun on this trip.

Granny definitely had a battle with Bunta back in the day 😂

i guess there's just no episode to watch this week

Eurobeat Corner, break week edition. Nothing really happened other than kei truck shenanigans which are always fun. Come visit Niigata!, says the show totally not paid by Niigata Prefecture to advertise Niigata Prefecture.

That being said, the Supra in the preview looks very different from what it was before...

i need more anime with sweet grandmas. this ep was extremely wholesome. and damn baa-chan knows how to drive stick lmao heel-toe

Wonder what kind of aero upgrade will the 86 get. The Supra seems to get quite the bodykit there at the preview.

What did England ever do to the author to earn all these strays?

Grand Mother Fucking Ghost (GMF Ghost)

As an Initial D fan I know too well how Shigeno sucks at drama/romance and SOL, but holy crap this episode is on another level of "no, thanks". And I thought I was prepared!

Pleasure to witness this masterpiece with you.

Kanata caught a Yanma.. Yanmega

What I liked about Kanata in the Eng. dub is that a VA named Kieran Flitton is actually English. He lives in the Dallas area now. He is the boyfriend of Alexis "Kurumi Tokisaki" Tipton.

Kanatas gonna switch to a suzuki every with a tuned r1 motor 🤣

Good episode. Kanata is a very deeply emotional person. Child like, pure in many ways.

Grandma sure can drive! That warning saying don't try this at home doesn't apply since anyone attempting would be out on the road. /s

Half-expected the kei truck to start drifting downhill when the eurobeats came on. Grandma can go head to head with Bunta with the beancurd.

Nothing like sibling rivalry in catching dragonflies.

>Since I got to Japan I’ve changed my attitude towards eating

Well yeah Kanata, you’re not eating the abomination that is English food. Colonize half the world and never uses the spices.

If it has wheels you can drift it. I just can’t believe the gag of referencing Initial D with Kei cars has looped back around to the actual Initial D universe.

It’s just a wondfully wholesome episode break between the races. What’s not to love?

Make sure you don’t miss the after credits scene

Scene in the forest got me thinking, do we have any rural feels good show this season?

Truck-kun is upset at not claiming another life.
