i have a question about Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? / Tamon's B-Side.

in the original japanese version, utage calls tamon what sounds like 'jimi-hara' and the subs translate that to 'gloomy-hara' but when i look it up, i see that jimi (地味) means plain or simple. am i getting it wrong, or is it just a case of the subs taking liberties with the translating to make it more overt? thanks!
