Usually we saw how Scarlett was the one keeping Constance on track, but this episode, it's the opposite. That moment at Silent Tea Party when Constance tried calming Scarlett was so charming.
Fancy Connie running into Deborah again, now maskless, as she and her cronies stand to take Constance to task for her "crimes" in place of her "Dear Friend" Pamela. Pamela, still causing Connie grief even this late into the show. Though they also had to reference Scarlett's death and rub it in, as if to add insult to injury. I'm not surprised Scarlett is ticked off, but she's got Constance and they'll get through this as a team!
Deborah can act like she had nothing to do with the human trafficiking (even if she probably did), but one of her retinue's husbands IS facing a possible hefty prison sentence if the real ringleader isn't discovered. Would Esther be willing to sell Deborah out if it meant saving her husband? Too bad Deborah is too powerful for that to work.
Luckily for Constance Abigail O'Brian (Ayako Kawasumi!) comes in to save the day, as blithe and cheery against this tense atmosphere. She's the only one on the same level as "Debbie" as part of the four great families and the only one Deborah can't oppose. Abigail is so on the level even Scarlett agrees with her about how careful Constance has to be moving forward. But she wouldn't even be there if not for Randolph seeking her assistance to support Connie. Is our Constance developing the "warm and fuzzies" for Randolph?
I guess it's not unexpected that Constance would become a prime interviewee for reporters, such as the inquisitive and always looking for a great scoop Amelia Hobbes (Aya Yamane!) who eagerly wants to get to the bottom of all the craziness going on in Constances' life and how she's becoming the second coming of Scarlett. Her partner, Aldous (Shoya Chiba!) is more laidback at least. Though despite being an inspiration for women by being an unmarried reporter in a man's field, could Amelia NOT make it sound like Constance is doing drugs and orgies on the regular!?
Constance is starting to get exhausted with all the characters and groups that keep introducing themselves to her. Now it's Kimberly Smith (Kimiko Saito!) as part of the committee for erasing all probelmatic and inhumane elements of their society, and who doesn't take well to the nobility. Luckily Connie gets bailed out by Kate, but it sucks that Kate feels betrayed that her best friend didn't tell her about her engagement. There's obviously good reason why Connie wants to keep Kate as separate from this as possible...but it still hurts.
A missing Faris prince? Obviously Randolph will have to investigate, but the fact that Constance is willing to face tea with Cecilia on her own is enough to raise his respect for her. And Constance seems to like that reaction!
Why did Cecilia react to Randolph not being there the way she did? Because she wanted him there or because she didn't like the idea of him investigating the missing prince?
So if you hear Cecilia's side of things, Scarlett was livid that Enrique bailed on her to visit a sick Cecilia. Next thing you know there's poisoned water in Cecilia's place and plenty of evidence linking Scarlett to the crime. Though despite all that, Cecilia is at least willing to admit she's guilty of falling for an engaged man and then being unable to produce an heir...and her merchant friend Vado has been supplying her ABORTION DRUGS that have been making her more sick and preventing her from having children. I don't know if Cecilia is good or bad, but she doesn't deserve that and I'm glad Constance helped her out.
Is this all connected to Faris somehow? But it seems like Connie has gotten too close now that the conspiracy is after her. Scarlett can do a bit, but can she stop a bullet?
However, I have to admit the jump scare and cliffhanger at the end of this episode brought my attention back.
Randolph - "Don't you think it's high time you come clean with me?"
Constance - "W-Would you care to negotiate?!"
...get engaged.
Later in the office:
Randolph - "Now, to business." (The 'business' being her story of what's going on that was her half of the engagement agreement.)
...time skip
Randolph - "I see. You want to clear Scarlett Castiel's ghost of her false conviction."
Scarlett - "Really, girl. Surely you should have held *something* back." (Implying she told him *everything*)
Randolph - "Candidly, your story is preposterous." (Who does she think she is? Sam Darnold?) "But... it's unusually consistent for a fiction."
(Crunchyroll subs - English)
Constance did pretty much nothing at that party except arrive just in time for the police raid. And she wasn't even engaged to Randolph at the time, as that didn't happen until after he caught her at the party.
As far as Pamela goes... it was clear that *Pamela* was the thieving kitten here who schemed to disgrace her rival in love. She was publicly humiliated for that already.
The only thing i can think of, was that Constance was being punished as an "upstart." The current Queen B!tch didn't like that this boring little mouse of a girl is drawing too much attention to herself, and as such, needed to be taken down a peg.
She was being asked to kiss the ring, and become Deborah's lackey, because Deborah felt threatened by Constance, right?

I honestly really suspected Cecilia might be in on the conspiracy, but if she was completely oblivious to basically poisoning herself and that preventing her from bearing children...could she really be just another victim?
1. Cecilia is an idiot who had nothing to do with framing Scarlett and somehow ended up trusting a merchant who’s been actively poisoning her and used his connection with her to kidnap the prince
2. She is a deep cover agent for the criminal organization that keeps getting brought up. She framed Scarlett so she could marry the crown prince and is intentionally taking birth control because, as Scarlett said, she hates everyone around her.
If the plump lady, who tried to lecture Constance on behaviour, could notice Constance looking into thin air (where Scarlett is floating), then Randolph must surely be extremely puzzled why Constance does so all the time, given their lengthier conversations, if she did not tell him about Scarlett.
Constance should be honest with Kate and inform the latter what has been happening. I feel Kate might be a character who is able to hold her ground, facing incoming problems calmly.
However, a small grumble I have with this title is that it introduces far too many characters in a short span of time. I have no clue which characters might play future major roles in the story and which are merely minor characters. Then again, maybe a key theme of this title is to keep us viewers guessing. Lol!
Meanwhile Constance was saved by Constance s ghost and is trying to clear her name. But is making herself a massive target for both those involved in the cover up (including a criminal organization and hallucinogens) and those who love and believe gossip. And one of those factions just tried to kill her
The princess should have pulled out her very own Maomao for tea time.
Scarlett pulled a Pikachu on that fake driver.

What exactly was the extra judicial tribunal of court ladies hoping to achieve? They have no legal authority after all. Why did Constance agree to attend?
What was Constance hoping to achieve by saying the magic detect evil word to the driver? Like, what is the *plan* here?
Or, like, when Scarlett talks about figuring out that there's a vendor who visits the palace but nobody who deals in that merchandise seems to know him is valuable information... valuable in what sense? What are we hoping to achieve with this info? How does this contribute to our team goal of figuring out who set up Scarlett?
This script needed more Shoshimin in it. That show also had a sort of good cop/bad cop pair (well, bad cop/very bad cop lol) but it did such a better job of establishing characters and motivations and relationships between them so that viewers could follow along and speculate and fall for red herrings. This show just doesn't have that sauce.
As a big fan of both Shoushimin and Eris, I think Eris just doesn’t have the luxury of being treated on the same level as Shoushimin, because it’s just far less popular. If the Silent Ladies’ Tea Party were done in Shoushimin’s style, the entire episode would probably take place in a single room, with way more added layers of tension.
Don’t get me wrong. Eris still has plenty of mystery, and that’s coming from someone who primarily watches mystery anime. But if I had to pitch this show to someone, I’d sell the thriller aspect more than the mystery.

This Amelia Hobbes girl has zero manners. She just barges in and gets so pushy. The whole sequence is pretty comedic too. Connie immediately gets hit with another headache from another commoner from the Ladies’ Committee of the Violet Association, Kimberly. We still have no real clue what her role in the story is yet.
This episode sets up **a lot**. Feels like we’re done with Deborah for now, and it doesn't seem like she'll provide any more leads. And the story is slowly shifting beyond Adelbide. This Kendall Levine dude seems to have lost a Farisian prince named Ulysses, and the tea party with Cecilia signals that this Vado guy is another mystery. Based on current events and [the previous episode](https://imgur.com/a/eris-ep3-gmZK6ze), it really feels like[ Cecilia’s](https://imgur.com/a/eris-ep3-gmZK6ze) the one pulling the strings. But then why poison herself with something she ordered from Vado? Is she deliberately avoiding pregnancy? Scarlett seems to see through her [bullshit.](https://imgur.com/a/eris-ep4-vYspGg2)
A lot happens in this episode, but the main clues are:
– A missing prince named Ulysses
– Cecilia being linked to Vado
– Cecilia poisoning herself (intentionally?)
– Connie getting ambushed by an evil group
Is she trying to undermine the royal family by getting in close with the prince, removing his original fiance, and then preventing herself from getting pregnant so Enrique would have no choice but to abdicate? Even if it meant deliberately poisoning herself?
I do get the vibe that Cecilia might hate the aristocracy in general.
I completely missed the part where Scarlett says, “You could hide a small child in that (hamper).” All the signs seem to be pointing straight at Cecilia.
>abdicate
A nice theory, but it makes you wonder about the "whydunit." What’s her motivation for doing so? Poisoning herself seems like a rather passive and pretty convoluted solution if her main goal is to undermine the royal family. Maybe she’s more cunning than she lets on and this is just one small piece of a bigger plan. If we’re right about the missing prince, that really does suggest Cecilia is the bigger fish here.
This show seems to have "gears with gears" conspiracies going on, so while Cecilia is hella sus, that doesn't mean she's the sole ringleader.
Secondly, there is also the issue of me understanding what the punishment is even supposed to be. Like, the whole point is that nothing from the meeting gets outside. So even if they find her "guilty" what is supposed to happen? Like, I assume the biggest punishment could be that they treat Constance like an outcast. Which could work since the leader is of one of the influential families. But Constance is now engaged to one of the other influential families, so it feels like this would just go nowhere.
I feel the issue with that scene is that it is hard to really feel the tension since I am missing an understanding of the proper consequences. I can make up some potential consequences, but as mentioned, most of them wouldn't even feel this harsh considering this is a secret meeting.
If she really does hate everyone around her (the prince included), as Scarlett claimed, then it could be she has no interest in having his child. She’s just leading him on for her own ends. Or Maybe she’s waiting for the right time to get pregnant. If she can kill him right after the pregnancy is announced and the king is dead, then she’ll basically be running things
I laughed at that newspaper article. How can anyone think sweet and innocent Connie is now doing drugs and orgies is beyond me. That journalist’s imagination is something else.
Scarlet feels like someone that was always alone. She lived in chaos with a "Me against the world" mentality, so she struggles to actually connect with people. That's why she was blushing when Constance said she can see through Scarlet's talk: Scarlet clearly isn't used to letting people get close.
And I doubt Randolph would have helped Constance if he didn't view her as a "good person," yet alone suggested their fake engagement.
For all her cleverness and quick thinking to get out of tough spots, Scarlet is a very proud and prickly person. She refused to even consider working with Randolph due to an old grudge. Which seems to be based on petty feelings more than anything Randolph actually did. She just didn't like the guy, so she tried to steer Constance away from him and sulks when Constance reaches out to Randolph. And yet, Randolph is a real one that has already been a big help to Connie. If Scarlet was always in control, she would have spurned him and suffered for it.
Look, we all know what happened when Scarlet was left to her own devices: the crowds cheered as she lost her head. She *loses* in the worst possible way, and she now needs someone like Constance to balance out her own worst tendencies.
[](#emiliaohdear)
But the story suffers from it moving way too fast. Like the whole hidden tea party was not set up well. What is the potential consequence for Constance here if everything stays inside this room anyway? Like what are they going to do if they find her "guilty"? Kill her? And was Constance's whole plan to just get this one girl to confess who the leader is? Wouldn't it be easier to do that outside of this tea party? Then you already have something you can use. It ultimately seemed there was a lot skipped and while I can make some assumptions about it, the show just doesn't give me enough information that the tension truly comes across.
Really bad evidence for Scarlet being the one to poison Cecilia, as presented literally all of it could have been planted by someone else. I wonder if Cecilia was taking that abortifacient intentionally or if she really has been being poisoned that much that often.
As such, people didn't question the allegations nor look at the evidence too closely, because as a whole, society just wanted her gone.
Trapped in a carriage and Constance thought is to stir up even more trouble by making the guy more hostile lol.
It doesn't feel like Constance and Scarlet are using their options competently. Scarlet is capable of danger free espionage, but instead they constantly have Constance meet dangerous people. During the tribunal they proclaimed victory and switched back without waiting to find out how the opposing side is even going to react. It felt unnatural Constance needed to be bailed out by a benevolent third party without Scarlet even trying to do anything.
It's also funny apparently everybody sees Constance looking at and reacting to Scarlet, but only one person pointed it out.
Did ~~Eris~~ Grail (can't even remember MC's name lmao) tell her new fiancé that she can see Scarlet's ghost? He asked her *Is Scarlet here?* didn't he? I forgot.
Is the princess? queen? drinking abortion tea on purpose or unknowingly?
But now it looks like Constance has been noticed by reporters and gossips, and has to endure their prodding and invented nonsense. And a kidnapping / assassination attempt, apparently by whatever the group responding to that secret phrase is.
Cecilia is quite the interesting character, drinking abortion causing tea in order to not get pregnant with an heir.
-I always thought it was Cécilia who accused Scarlett of poisoning her, but maybe that's not the case since she seemed to be drinking the abortive poison unknowingly?
-Who could have kidnapped the Prince of Faris and for what purpose?
-It looks like Connie has made some enemies with that strange driver who shot at her? He seems to have reacted with Lily’s kirikiru, I wonder what that means besides him being a bad person ~
They just ever so casually, a whole kid prince is just missing, but it's the fake drugs and orgies that make the headlines. Poor Connie. Also gun, so again poor Connie.
"If you wanna know if someone is a bad guy, say this magic word to them, and if they immediately pull out a pistol and try to shoot you, then they are a bad guy."
Nice to know that Scarlett is able to affect the physical realm a bit, I wonder what the limits are. Obviously not enough to stop a shooter.
