Those who still practice it are then in danger of being ratted out, so they have to be selective with who they treat.
Not that this would completely stop the usage of medicine, but it severely limits it, which gives the church a monopoly on treating the sick, which makes them more powerful. The question is if the ban on medicine was a pure powerplay or just zealotry, probably a mix of both.
Also why is the lab abandoned?
Edit: or spiralfaced.
>Also why is the lab abandoned?
I mean one of the things broke out, I would fuck off too. Plus it seems like they just changed places since that hall seemed pretty clean and new.
I have a feeling that wasn’t Flum at the door. Milkit is in trouble….
Which is accurate and based.
But given Roll Over and Die, 'Tis Time for Torture, and Dou in The Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!! we seem to be getting a lot of demon ~~propaganda~~ positive representation this season.
Good for them being able to stick to their original mission and morals.
But where do they go from here?
The Church is evil.
The Kingdom is at a minimum shady and suspicious, if not evil as well.
The Heroes party has turned their back on Flum, and that Jean sage is downright bad and shady, if not evil as well.
Could he be aware of the truth about the church and kingdom, or is he just a regular old asshole?
I guess their only options are to try and do something on their own, or team up with the demons?
Considering Neigass saved them and they seem to be the "good" guys here.
Wonder what that core of the Ogre really was and its significance.
Since it came from that experimental laboratory and Neigass wanted it.
I don't think this is necessarily true. At least not all of them. I get the feeling the warrior dude, the magician lady and the hero herself all do care for Flume. To me at least it came over that the hero had the sage expell flum so harshly from the party because she was worried about her and it was the only way she would actually leave and go home. I'd be worried about someone with absolutely no stats as well. Because they never figured out reversal Flum was highly likely to die on the trip. I don't think anyone was aware the sage actually planned to sell her into slavery

To me that scene came off as the sage gaslighting her by lying to her saying he is worried about her instead of it being because he hated flum, it didn't seem like it was the hero's idea, she clearly enjoyed having Flum around and got terribly depressed. He probably needed her approval in part to lie to Flum and in part to officially kick Flum since the hero is the de facto leader of the hero's party so her word probably meant more in that regard (even if the party was somewhat democratic).
It didn't seem like anyone in the party knew about her even leaving much less being sold into slavery.
> Could he be aware of the truth about the church and kingdom, or is he just a regular old asshole?
It was heavily implied in a previous episode that Jean took out Flum because of a love triangle. Jean has the hots for the Hero Girl, forget her name, but she was the closest friend to Flum since they were both country bumpkins.
Jean saw a potential yuri ship getting in the way of monopolizing the other girl, so he decided to "kill the hypotenuse" as a way of "winning." That and gaslighting the other girl into going along with the plan "for Plum's sake."
It also seems like she wasn't supposed to be *really* sold into slavery, as it wasn't a full brand at first. It wasn't until the slaver painted the special ink over it afterwards that she became a 'real' slave, but the Hero Girl had left by that point.
I'm inferring that she wasn't told the 'real' plan by Jean. They were just supposed to drive her away, so the weakest Hero wouldn't die on their mission, and not actually sell her into slavery. Ofc, Jean being a complete shithead wouldn't tell the Hero Girl that part even as he arranged it with the Slaver.
The rest of hte Heroes seem pretty chill. They appreciated the effort Flum put into doing camp chores and whatever other help she could muster. So even if she was weak, her heart was in the right place. They even took time to mentor her.
Yeah I was thinking "Shouldn't you be worried about how you'll handle exposing this".
>The Heroes party has turned their back on Flum, and that Jean sage is downright bad and shady, if not evil as well.

The heroes didn't turn their back on Flum, only the sage who seemed to always have hated her since he is the "I'm better than all of you" type of smart hero, the others were clearly sad and mad as hell that he pushed her out (since clearly none of them is falling for his "she left of her own accord" bullshit) especially Cyrill since she blames herself too because he gaslighted/blackmailed her.
Maybe the priestess will hate her next time they meet since Flum will be weary of the church and she seems to have a deep hatred for demons.
I'm betting he is just an asshole, he had to sell her illegally and did so on his own without the knowledge of anyone in the party or the church, which is probably super pissed off.
Also, the church and/or kingdom placed her there for a reason (to either use her or keep her controlled) and the church knights raided the placed where she was being kept enslaved so they clearly wanted to get her before she could escape or something to seem like the good guys to her or imprison/experiment on her.
>Wonder what that core of the Ogre really was and its significance.
Since it came from that experimental laboratory and Neigass wanted it.
Likely to study how they made the monsters and how to kill them since she was surprised flum could destroy the core and her bubble attack thing didn't even scratch it. It seems like the only way to actually kill them since the werewolf thingy from episode 2 was still alive.
But the point is she's not always the good guy.
Because DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN, that show was so bad it was impossible to take seriously.
Oh wait! It wasn´t the adventurers guild but the church who created the spiral thing monsters??? And now the church is corrupt??? That is totally unexpected!!!!
And even the demons are the good guys compared to the church, ffs this world is totally messed up.
# But more importantly... [DEMON YURI OMGGGGGGG](https://imgur.com/a/Yscz002)
She totally has a crush on Sara omg i´m fangirling so hard. But well... the demon or was lying a bit or she realized she fell in love with a human
And I really hope Milkit doesn´t get caught in anything bad at the end... (she totally will and Flum will save her)
You what 😅
That Dein guy 100% has something to do with it since it was mentioned he had connections with powerful people and one of the knights was "scared" of him. He probably is the goon that puts them out (and is trying to hunt flum down).
>She totally has a crush on Sara
How old is Sara because she looks 12....
>
> That Dein guy 100% has something to do with it since it was mentioned he had connections with powerful people and one of the knights was "scared" of him. He probably is the goon that puts them out (and is trying to hunt flum down).
Dein also sent Flum straight towards the Spiral Chimera Werewolf. He could have picked any dangerous looking job to send her, but he sent her to the Spiral Death Demon one.
As shady as he is, I doubt that was a coincidence.
i mean, if you have a protagonist that can regenerate missing limbs like Plum then it would be a waste not to show her doing that every week
So demons good, church evil. The way Neigass blushed when Sara thanked her.
And breaks up an awkward moment with flower magic. Bad people don't break up awkward moments with flower magic. Well maybe with evil flower magic that makes carnivorous rampaging flowers or something, but not with "petals in the wind" flower magic.
Also just a minor complaint that may turn major if it keeps happening. THAT NARRORATOR! WHY ARE THEY HERE!?!? It's ruining all the tension and it doesn't even explain any new information in the scene that isn't already shown. It's like it's allergic to us taking in the moment, I need it to stop, expeditiously!
That's destroyed so many stories that had the potential to be better.
With all the spirals, half-expecting Simon and Kamina to show up.
What kind of child says "OK" when another child tells her "Don't look!"?
God I wish the narrator would just shut the fuck up.
I like how the spiral girl was nice enough to stopped pulling MC inside her to give MC time to look around for the source of the foot steps.
I'm so glad the gauntlet wasn't lost. Spiral Ogre the MVP for that.
Why would discarded corpses in a corpse pile have cursed gear in the first place? And why did they need to dig instead of using Appraisal to find it?
She removed the corpse leg from the boot and pulled the boot on in the half second it took the spiral ogre to stand up. I guess her stats make her fast at doing these things.
"Plum when you're fighting an opponent several times your strength, ask them to wait a minute while you power up."
Why did the monster stop regenerating when she did the sword aura attack? Oh, it didn't, that makes more sense. Also, where did the ice come from? I know the boot said it freezes you, nothing about it freezing enemies you attack with a sword.
I'm guessing Milkit gets kidnapped there after all.
So, um, is this show's story basically Helck, but with the demons more serious than goofy, and without Helck?
EDIT: Forgot to say that it's probable that the curse on the boots is the accumulation of grudges from the experimental victims and even if it weren't, the grudge from dying like that should be high
After killing who - the wielder or the enemy? Without reversal it would've been impossible to kill an enemy with it, so it's gotta be the former, but that means it won't get any stronger anymore unless some thief manages to steal it.
> Forgot to say that it's probable that the curse on the boots is the accumulation of grudges from the experimental victims and even if it weren't, the grudge from dying like that should be high
Boots? It's just the one boot, right?
Why would the sword discriminate? It's getting lunch either way.
So, think like a video game
* This sword causes it's wielder to dissolve and die
* This sword gets more cursed when it causes a creature to die.
* \- a bunch of stat points just as a fuck you while you're dissolving.
Because the first and last magical effect target Flum, they get inverted, and because of the phrasing of the middle effect, any method of the sword causing a death activates it just fine.
How dare you not Love Large Chests.
And while it has better stats the sword I don't think it's ability is as broken as instantly melting someone's body to goo. Or in Flum's case instant super regen.
I guess this world takes the reverse of freezes self to freezes others instead of my original thought of freeze immunity.
The sword's melting reversal gives her regen, so the freezing reversal should give her auto-thawing.
Cursed gear is created when resentment builds up. So a pile of dead bodies is like the best place to find cursed gear. I assume they needed to dig through the bodies to appraise stuff since I assume you gotta see the thing you want to appraise.
Yeah, it is like it is part of some second screen mandate.
Damn I missed that.
That is all
That demon general was incredibly nice, though many generals tend to be slick talkers. She could have easily eliminated The Chosen One. Then again, The Chosen One now owes her one and it might sway The Chosen One to her side just enough.
"Ara. Is that Flum-chan?" Ah, we have one lady that's probably an ara-ara lady (intelligent kind) and the 'su girl that calls Flum Onee-san. Also, exploding flowers
Flum usually stayed hidden in the back of the party, when would she have met Flum during those encounters?
He also has a nose for trouble and knows the Church was looking into the death of that Slaver. He didn't know it was the same slaver that bought Flum, but I guarantee he's going to figure that out sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, he's going to kidnap Milikt while she's out in the sticks to use as bait to lure in Flum.
I still hate the inclusion of the stupid stats, but I like how Flum was obviously observant of the techniques of the other heroes back when she was too weak to use their them.
The big mystery of why Flum's name keeps coming up with these "spiral" experiments persist, though it looks like this setting is one of the ones where the Vhurch is evil and the demons are good, or at least not evil. Not the most original "twist" these days...
I bet its the thugs behind the door, and they will kidnap Milkit forcing a rescue mission in the next episode.
However, I'm really intrigued by how Flum's name keeps appearing. Hope that the plot reveal will be worth
10 minutes later, drags her into the mass grave with her.
lol.
Pretty convenient she finds cured item that is boots after having just lost hers from losing her leg and they are a perfect fit.
Sara? Adorable.
Inn(Hotel)? Under attack(Trivago).
Okay, this is genuinely some Orochimaru level shit. Why did they ever think creating that abomination was a good idea? Yes, I know the answer is “evil” but still.
Now for the more important question, why do the spiral abominations seem to know Flum by name? Wild based off literally nothing speculation, the church is attempting to create a body for their god Origin to incarnate into and that’s the purpose of the experiments and why they know the name of a person they’ve never met.
You know things are bad when even the supposed “bad guy” demons agree that what that sage ass did to Flum is beyond heinous.
Okay but seriously, Neigass actually seems pretty nice.
I wonder if there’s some sort of territorial dispute, like humans colonizing demon’s lands that’s behind the conflict?
I genuinely like most of this show but unfortunately it’s reminding me of my hatred for video game stats based power systems. It didn’t work when SDS did it and it doesn’t work here. And can the narrator shut up with saying stuff like “Then, the grass was green” like it’s something that needs to be stated aloud? It’s probably a remnant of light novel storytelling but can the show just get rid of it already? (That’s enough, just needed to get that out of my system.)
Flum called upon the power of yuri to defeat the spiral ogre!
The demon lady's "Crimson Sphere" was actually blue. 🤔
Nun x Demon yuri is peak.
The atmosphere in the abandoned lab was really well done (except for the narrator). It felt like a truly God forsaken place.
So Origin symbology has to do with spirals huh. Will be good to remember that.
>(except for the narrator)
Seems like I'm the only one in the comments who liked it lol.
You know, maybe demons are evil.
Wait no who's at Milkit's door. Don't you dare
And a universe completely opposite from Frieren in demon life. Nice
Of course, the fact that they also fit is just standard fantasy gear stuff.

Me, this episode: "And *yet*."
Sara was added to the ED this episode which makes me think we'll get to keep her. There are two more empty chairs at the ED table too so I imagine they'll be picking up a few more people to fill out the party. I assume more girls since why break that streak.
I love that the warrior of her former party played quite a bit of a mentor role to the MC despite her being conventionally perceived as weak. His willingness to impart to her knowledge has been bearing fruit ever since she left the party.
