Proposed Episode Counts for Dragon Ball Super
With the return of Dragon Ball Super finally on the horizon, I’ve mapped out what I think the episode counts should be for each upcoming arc based on the manga's pacing.
Broly Arc (Film Adaptation) — 9 Episodes
If the Broly movie is adapted for TV, 9 episodes would be the "sweet spot." Since Akira Toriyama’s original script was reportedly three hours long and had to be trimmed for the theatrical release, an anime adaptation could restore those deleted scenes, providing more depth to the Saiyan backstory on Planet Vegeta.
Moro Arc — 20–24 Episodes
With 26 long-form chapters, this arc fits perfectly into a 20–24 episode run. A great way to start the season would be adapting the Raspberry bonus chapter—showing his capture, his escape from the Galactic Prison, and how he eventually frees Moro. This prologue would lead naturally into Goku and Vegeta’s training and the kidnapping of Majin Buu, giving the season a high-stakes opening.
Granolah the Survivor Arc — 14 Episodes
While this arc spans 20 chapters, much of it is centered on heavy combat. Many fans felt the manga pacing dragged during the middle act, so keeping the adaptation to 14 episodes would ensure the action stays tight and impactful without overstaying its welcome.
Super Hero Arc — 11–12 Episodes
Even though the core story was covered in the 3D film, seeing it in a high-quality 2D art style would be a treat. This count accounts for the 18 manga chapters, which include the essential "High School" prequel featuring Goten and Trunks, as well as the epilogue chapters that weren't in the movie.

Commentaires
I do hope that they expand Moro Arc a bit more as well allowing the Z-Fighters to shine even more.
Z-Fighters in the manga were teaming up with Galactic Patrol while the duo were training.
Also might need to keep in mind that it won't be a 1:1 manga adaptation so we will see alot more content into the moro/granolah arcs, so i can see extra few eps for Granolah arc.
There should be an in-between episode to explain how Goku and Vegeta start training with Whis.
RoF itself should have 6 as well.
U6 vs U7 should have 9 episodes due to the bigger cast.
Rest really depends on whether they are adapting the manga or anime.
U6 vs U7 difference is really just Hit which would still take 2 episodes
