Anime movie night recommendations?✨
Hello everyone! I usually do anime movie nights on Fridays, but lately I’m running out of ideas and keep rewatching the same titles. I’ve already enjoyed films like Your Name, A Silent Voice, and Weathering With You, and I’d really appreciate recommendations for anime films with strong storytelling, emotional impact, or memorable direction. Thank you in advance!

Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise
And
Mars Express (French Anime Inspired Sci-fi Film)
gosh this is such a masterpiece that doesn’t get talked about enough in my opinion. it’s self contained and does such a great job of conveying its message in 2 hours.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Redline
Princess and the Pilot
Sword of the Stranger
Princess Mononoke (and other Ghibli stuff)
Mind Game
Paprika
Akira
Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms
Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

A more fun option, IMO: Promare
Free tv introduced me to Your Name and Weathering w You but the curiosity elevated to fondness.
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal OVA (It's a standalone 4-episode OVA so it's basically the same length as a movie).
absolutely loved that film and it gave me such a fresh perspective on life, also has a rlly good sound track
hotarubi no mori e
the art and concept are gorgeous
tokyo godfathers
so hilarious but sheds a light on the reality of life in the process
AURA: Koga Maryuin's Last War (Don't skip the end credits, there's scenes during and after. Also all the trailers are super spoilery, so don't watch those lol.)
Josee, the Tiger and the Fish
Sing a Bit of Harmony
Mardock Scramble (A movie trilogy.)
Hopefully someone who has seen the movie first could chime in
- [x] The tunnel to summer, the exit to goodbyes
- [x] I want to eat your pancreas
- [x] 5 centimeters per second
Suzeme
But my all-time fav for deep emotional movies was I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. Pay no attention to the title it makes sense after you watch it. When I want the emotions to flow this is the movie I go back to time and time again.
