Ginban Kaleidoscope (Winter Olympics)

Now that the Winter Olympics are coming up has anyone else been thinking of Ginban Kaleidoscope? It is such a hidden gem. I highly recommend watching or reading it if you have the time.

The relationship between Tazusa Sakurano and Pete Pumps is such perfection!! The end is also so tragic but very real. It was a surprising twist that everything didn’t end perfectly for her.

This anime is so funny and carries so much emotion. I’m surprised it’s not more popular. Is anyone else a fan of the anime?

I gave this one a go not that long ago. It's limited in a few key ways that drag it down, but it does have some charm and Tazusa has enough spunk to hold the show together despite that. One thing that annoyed me later on was the lame routine they put together that was far worse than her previous one but they threw in some imaginary visuals and then acted like it was a huge triumph for her. Medalist it is not, but it was an alright watch.

Did you watch the sub or dub? The sub is 100% better. The jokes in it hit more

Sub, unless I have a connection to a dub from when I was younger, I'm not watching anything dubbed.

[Emilywoozeller.com/animation](http://Emilywoozeller.com/animation) was the voice of the leading lady in the Eng. dub. It was an Animax Asia dub.

It seems like figure skating is the way to go for stories that involve ice skating (Ginban, Yuri On Ice, Medalist, etc.), I wonder where the speed skating stories are.

That would be cool!!

I just watched that anime last month. I really liked it!

It was quite fun. Peak 2000s shoujo vibes. The main pair were a blast. I loved Tazusa, she was such a fun MC. We love an egotistical kinda stoopid queen.

The ending of the anime was also a very nice emotional note to end on.

I’m glad you liked it! I’ve watched the anime almost every time there’s a Winter Olympics since the 2000s lol

Oooh, having an annual Olympics anime is a fun tradition to have. Ginban Kaleidoscope is certainly a fun pick for that!

If I were to have one for the summer olympics I think it would be Suzuka. Have you ever seen that one?

No, I haven’t seen that one yet. Looking it up, I can see why it would be a summer Olympics kind of anime.
