Looking for anime recommendations
I watched some anime back in the day like street fighter, ninja scroll, demon city, wicked city etc….meaning I’m aware of most of the mainstream stuff from the mid 90’s - early 00’s.
I’ve sort of rediscovered an interest in anime and found a couple decent free streaming services but it’s been tough trying to figure out what’s what.
Far as my interests I like more fighting-based anime however it doesn’t necessarily mean like fighters but conflict in general.
Where it gets really difficult is finding more adult oriented content.
Note: I guess I’m more drawn towards some sort of violence in 1 form or another.
When I say adult oriented content I’m not referring to hentai but more like adult themes, situations etc…or in laymen’s like more so oriented towards adult characters, their conflicts, settings, story arcs and problems etc….
One theme that I have grown to despise the most since it seems like it’s everywhere is something like an awkward social outcast transfers to a new school and ends up with some godlike ability yet still manages to fail resulting in wallowing in self-pity for half the story arc.
With that being said there are exceptions here and there like Dragonball or urotsukidoji.
Examples of more recent anime I have liked are things like Brave 10, Hell’s paradise, clash of the storm riders or something like that. Other things I can tolerate just bc I haven’t found better content would be the demon slayer series. I forgot what it was called but there was another series I watched centered around fighter jet pilots that guarded an inter dimensional gateway to another world. It was ok.
Couple others I can think of are the castlevania series and the he-man series but for me they fall closer towards American influenced anime. Not that there is anything wrong with it but in general there is not much content out there.
So far I think the best one I’ve seen that I never heard of is Hell’s Paradise just bc thematically it’s out there but the storyline is still very intriguing and progresses in a way that keeps you interested.
Lastly, I prefer movies to tv series but I am flexible just bc without any flexibility I’d be seriously limiting myself otherwise.
Ps I did watch a season or 2 of Inuyasha long ago but the story got really tired, really fast.
Thanks in advance

For me gundam is just such a large franchise where some of the shows/movies are epic and some are meh.
Sword of the Stranger
Rage of Bahamut: Genesis (I strongly recommend Genesis only — do not watch the sequel.)
Also, Dragon Ball Super:BROLY is childish, but it's really fun.
I’ve seen most of the Dragonball stuff from Z-forward. I agree I wish Broly was fleshed out more in the anime. I’d also like to see more appearances from Cumber as well.
