I’m super excited for this, SAC is one of my favorite series of all time
bicb00sac2026-01-30 05:10
fr, the art style looks cool too and with ScienceSaru animating, the hype is real
toesuccintoni2026-01-30 05:11
I’m real interested to see how they do the OPs for this series. SAC had some all time classic openings
North5142026-01-30 06:08
Yeah sadly Origa isn't here with us anymore. Still I hope they can find anyone to even channel a portion of her greatness.
porpoiseoflife2026-01-30 18:18
Hells, I'd be satisfied with a Making Of Cyborg cover...
despairiscontagious2026-01-30 06:57
Missed opportunity if they don't give any songs to Mili
EitherExamination3432026-01-30 15:44
I still listen to Secret Ceremony, it’s so good.
JosebaZilarte2026-01-30 06:48
Same, but I am so used to the serious tone of SAC, that it will take me some time to reacclimate myself to the more laid back tone of the original manga.
SolomonBlack2026-01-30 08:50
Look as long as your only vision of the franchise isn't the movie's unmedicated depression you'll be fine.
Dull_Spot_82132026-01-30 05:08
I like these visuals. That music is not very pleasant though.
Forestl2026-01-30 05:27
Cyberpunk worlds are meant to be not very pleasant
Dull_Spot_82132026-01-30 05:37
I’m no stranger to the franchise. But this track sounds like if dial up was having a fit and wrote a song about it.
Rotorscope2026-01-30 05:56
Everyone knows the future is dial up! Wait
incipiency2026-01-30 07:31
In contrast I love the music. Sounds like a mix between the [Stand Alone Complex](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96u--m_XlEs) ost and something like [Cyberpunk 2077](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhF3O1xCBW4), both of which had amazing ost.
pbeenjoyer5552026-01-30 14:05
I love how industrial it is, it's a departure from the same motone OSTs that plague anime.
theshinycelebi2026-01-30 05:18
Looks stylish as hell, I'm so ready for July.
Candid_Ad47612026-01-30 05:19
bandai namco first on production committee. Easy skip.
BSAENP2026-01-30 05:42
You're gonna have to skip like 40% of all anime ever made then (this number goes up to like 70% for shounen and mecha anime)
Candid_Ad47612026-01-30 05:56
[deleted]
BSAENP2026-01-30 06:38
That doesn’t change what I said at all and in this case it’s an incredibly stupid thing to say cuz Bandai has been working on this franchise since the very first movie
YZJay2026-01-30 06:43
Well, this show IS the “trashed future season and used as a money grab” show. Bandai Namco has been involved with the IP for decades, and this is is just the latest one among a line of a dozen adaptations.
Alt22212026-01-30 07:23
least salty one punch man fan
nezeta2026-01-30 05:23
Looks faithful to the art style of the og manga. I'm already looking forward to the staff adapting Shirow Masamune's other masterpieces such as Appleseed and Dominion Conflict.
PseudoCalamari2026-01-30 08:05
Damn, an appleseed anime would be great.
Tacitus_2026-01-30 19:09
There are a couple CGI movies. They're... fine.
Kozak1702026-01-30 22:13
I’ve tried two and honestly found them to be absolutely awful. I don’t know what it is honestly
SinoCenturion2026-01-30 18:53
Was going to say the exact same thing. That shot of Aramaki looks like it could have been lifted directly off the pages of the manga.
Queue_Jumping_Quack2026-01-30 05:28
I love how colorful it is, and love the style. Really looking forward to this.
penguintruth2026-01-30 05:29
I'm definitely going to give this a watch. I wonder what the cast will be.
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 05:31
Damn, this is gonna be crack for the eyes.
SameEnergy2026-01-30 05:38
Hoping this becomes my goat
RayearthIX2026-01-30 05:42
Looks 1000x better than SAC2045. The OG movie, manga, and SAC season 1 and 2 are excellent. Definitely looking forward to this.
HolyErr0r2026-01-30 05:43
For someone who has yet to get into the series but was wanting to, what does this project mean?
Is this a continuation or a reboot that one could start the series with?
wesleymess2026-01-30 05:47
It's an adaption that more closely follows the manga more than the movie and series that spun-off from said movie did.
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 05:50
~~Manga-accurate remake of the series.~~
Never mind. We don’t currently know anything this project beyond it sharing a similar visual style to the original manga.
More information to follow.
SolomonBlack2026-01-30 08:48
Or so we presume.
I know I know every bit of it so far drips OG manga (delicious!) but I haven't seen any formal statements to that effect. A bait and switch onto some new take wouldn't exactly be suprising coming from this franchise.
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 08:50
Any other dreams you want to crush on your way out?
SolomonBlack2026-01-30 08:52
Dude asks a factual question, give 'em a factual answer.
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 08:52
Ironically, we’re only qualified to give a speculative one.
SolomonBlack2026-01-30 08:54
Which is why you qualify your statements.
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 08:58
You’re right, I apologize. I’ll bite my tongue and refrain from arguing the semantics of my position.
Tacitus_2026-01-30 19:22
The shots at 0:12 and 0:18 (the guy in the robot suit) are lifted from the manga so it at least looks to adapt the story where they attack a labour/brainwashing camp.
North5142026-01-30 06:10
They all exist in their own continuities, Film Continuity (95 Film and 2.0), SAC continuity, Arise continuity and then this series, which is more adapting the manga straight, or at least that is inferred. You can just wait for this adaption or check out the other older works, it doesn't really matter.
That said the original film and SAC (the 2000s series anyway) are both worth watching (personally they are some of my favorite anime I have ever watched). Arise is okay but wasn't a favorite of mine, like the others, and I didn't like the 2.0 film.
StreamingPanda2026-01-30 07:17
Don't forget the completely forgettable Scarlett Johanson live action movie lol.
dinliner082026-01-30 11:33
i never watched the live-action movie but was it that bad?
BeardyDuck2026-01-30 14:01
Not really, but a lot of the scenes are basically shot for shot remakes of the '95 movie, the themes are majorly watered down, and the plot revolves around Kusanagi being "the special one" even though that's entirely antithetical to the core theme of GitS.
WiqidBritt2026-01-30 18:04
Eh, she's often a bit unique in the each version, though I'd rather not go into spoilers for each one.
But yeah, the live-action movie is guilty of copying the imagery without the context.
RhysA2026-01-31 03:35
The Live action move is a perfectly adequate and pretty action film but its a terrible adaptation of Ghost in the Shel..
zxelvton2026-01-30 07:28
As someone who only watched the first movie (1995) should i first watch the 2000 series or the upcoming one?
Massive_Weiner2026-01-30 08:09
They’re entirely separate things, so you can watch both in whichever order you prefer.
The author contributed original story details to SAC, but it exists in its own unique continuity (not related to either the manga or the film).
There are at least [5 separate continuities](https://www.deviantart.com/morsoth/art/875630114) attached to the GitS franchise.
vetro2026-01-30 08:41
SAC is great. Arise and 2045 are pretty disliked from what I've seen.
WiqidBritt2026-01-30 18:06
The second half of 2045 got better. I was actually really annoyed that the first half ended right around where things started to click.
North5142026-01-30 06:00
Sparks of Tomorrow, GITS Remake and Witch From Mongolia. Three very visually impressive shows, and one of which is a remake to one of my favourite anime/manga ever....yep Summer has already won this year.
Fifi_is_awesome2026-01-30 08:30
sparks of tomorrow ?
North5142026-01-30 10:38
Kyoto Animation's new work. Trailers are out.
Mooseymax2026-01-31 01:26
Stark of tomorrow
Ktulusanders2026-01-30 06:01
Oh it's beautiful 😍
NeptuneOW2026-01-30 06:07
I’ll watch anything Science Saru makes, this looks awesome
NearNirvanna2026-01-30 07:02
Have you watched heike yet? Its massively overlooked, by i do understand that historical dramas arent super popular
NeptuneOW2026-01-30 07:42
I actually love historical stuff, but I’m more interested in Edo and Meiji Japan! Nevertheless, I’ll check it out!
middleupperdog2026-01-30 06:13
Ghost in the Shell: Advance Wars
modusxd2026-01-30 06:20
Ok it's been a long time since I watched so I'm out of the loop, is this just a remake of the original? Will there be any content ?
N7CombatWombat2026-01-30 17:45
This looks like an actual adaptation of the manga. Everything that's come before just mined the manga for characters and ideas, but never really adapted it to any appreciable degree.
modusxd2026-01-30 17:57
I see thx
darkchocosuckao2026-01-30 07:06
Who will voice Motoko Kusanagi since our beloved Atsuko Tanaka has passed away? Will it be Maaya Sakamoto like GITS Arise or someone else?
incipiency2026-01-30 07:15
It's like they made this show specifically for me. The art style, the music, the setting and story, it really couldn't be much better suited to my personal tastes. Ever since I read the original Gits manga ages ago I've wished someone would do an adaptation that's closer in tone to it than the movies or Stand Alone Complex, which I love don't get me wrong, but the manga has a fun pulpy vibe other adaptations lack while still being the root of all that political drama and philosophical jargon the franchise has since become known for.
And now I'm finally getting that wish and it looks *great*. I'm pumped for this one.
nowhereright2026-01-30 07:25
Dare I say, this may be the best adaptation yet? Super excited. I was never able to get into arise.
Ok_Carob_32782026-01-30 07:35
I bet Western tourists will complain about fan service in anime again… I'm so sick of it.
thegalmo2026-01-30 08:02
Oh man am I stoked for this. The original GITS movie was one of the first anime I ever watched, what nearly 30 years ago now? Snagged me as a fan for life.
1832vini2026-01-30 08:45
not CG?
Ultramarinus2026-01-30 10:02
2026 is already a fantastic year but I hope that this will be its crown for me considering SAC is still my greatest of all time.
I especially love how the soundtrack is shaping up.
ScarRufus2026-01-30 10:07
Oh my god, it looks amazing
ChampionshipIll61712026-01-30 10:24
This looks fire! What’s everyone most hyped for in this new series?
ZapsZzz2026-01-30 11:23
Looking at the aesthetics, I hope this adaptation is going to be more true to the original manga to be more advanced detailed cops and robbers / Apple Seed (the manga not the anime). Looking at the scenes they seemed to be from the manga.
baddog12292026-01-30 11:56
Is this going to be a Netflix only thing in the states?
RabbitCity60902026-01-30 13:55
So is it a reboot or what?
ScarRufus2026-01-30 14:09
Closer to the manga adaptation
RabbitCity60902026-01-30 18:15
So a reboot?
Tacitus_2026-01-30 19:16
Not really, since outside of the first movie the anime hasn't been adapting the manga. And even the first movie didn't do a faithful adaptation, it's mostly the Puppetmaster story with other random bits crammed into it for length.
OkieRising2026-01-30 14:51
I’m ready! It looks fantastic!
quietly412026-01-30 15:05
The art looks amazing, but based on the key visual just put out, her boobs are ginormous, and ridiculous
MisoRamenSoup2026-01-30 16:07
OG manga art style. will it be as quirky as it too? Hype time.
swordmalice2026-01-30 17:35
Holy shit this looks SO good; my girl Motoko is ready for her close up! Still can't believe we're getting a manga adaptation of GitS in the year of our Lord 2026! Feed it directly into my veins; is it July yet????
Castor_0il2026-01-30 18:13

What about Fuwawa? Hae?!
eetsumkaus2026-01-30 20:15
another Toh Enjoe script? Get ready for overly complicated technobabble that goes nowhere.
That being said, I did enjoy Godzilla SP, so maybe I have something to look forward to.
Ktulusanders2026-01-31 03:55
Dang, I'm a diehard godzilla fan, but even i was kinda turned off by how 90% of the script of singular point is just pure exposition dump
Tonberryc2026-01-30 22:03
Did a cat walk on an electric guitar for this trailer? Don't get me wrong. I'm excited for the show. GITS is one of my all-time favorite franchises, but that audio gave me a headache.
Cute-Television-12562026-01-30 23:27
Its about damn time 😎
Crimson_Orange2026-01-31 02:41
Artstyle is the same as manga. Is it a movie or TV series?
