One of the problems is that the manga is on hiatus and it's close to ending. https://animecorner.me/more-than-a-married-couple-but-not-lovers-manga-hiatus
All we can do at this point is wait.
Fuukoi (More than a Married Couple) is a decent hit for a Seinen Manga, which tend to post lower sales numbers than Shounen, but it's sitting at around 1.5M total sales.
By way of comparison, in terms of mega hit seinens, Kingdom's gotten multiple anime sequel seasons and is one of the best selling Seinen Series of all time, and it has 120M volumes sold. Berserk's gotten a few adaptations, and it's at 70M volumes sold.
A better comparison that got a S2 might be Grand Blue, but it's topped 10M sales.
Fuukoi just doesn't have enough popularity as a manga to get a ton of momentum towards an anime. Like Bocchi the Rock's manga "only" has 4M in sales, but the anime was wildly popular both in music and the film versions of the anime (which were essentially re-cuts of the anime) were extgremely profitable. And even then, Bocchi has more than double the sales of Fuukoi.
I think the chances Fuukoi gets a Season 2 is very small. Which is unfortunate, as I really enjoyed the anime.
Read the manga.
