I have great news!

Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, the title self explain

re zero is a good isekai - twist is that every time he dies, he goes back to random save point, very cool story

lord of mysteries is another good one - instead of traditional fantasy land with elves etc, its more steam punk or victorian england. power system is really cool where there are 22 paths that eventually become gods

The Great Cleric - salaryman gets a second life and works hard to become a powerful healer

The Faraway Paladin - a man is reborn and trains under his unusual guardians to set out on an adventure of his own

The Water Magician - young man reincarnates and rescues a shipwrecked man and begins his journey exploring his new world

Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation

Even if it starts out like that e.g. Shield Hero, they all eventually devolve into random nonsense with no goal.

Cautious Hero - Comedy mix that is best watched until the end. Not a harem, but a few different women fall for/care for MC. The show does FINISH with the last episode and as a full story is really worth watching for any isekai fan.

Water Magician - classic well done fantasy isekai, hero story is a bit lacking but the snimation is super fun

Saving 80,000 gold in another world - opposite of what you asked for (variety), female protag who is a relateable MC in various ways for most people. Probably one of the better done "isekai" as the idea of being in another world is actully relevant throughout the whole story, instead of immediately discarded. As someone who also usually avoids harem isekai I recommend giving it a try!

(2nd recommen) Journey through another world: raising kids - guy gets isekai'd and raises twin orpans during his adventure. very wholesome and fun magic! I don't know if there even was a love onterest for this one?

strongest sage with the weakest crest - can't remember if there was anyone other than main love interest, but i remember the power system being very fun. reincarnator > isekai

*** (top recommendation for your criteria)the wrong way to use healing magic - isekai'd into a hero role, and forced to use healing magic in unconvential ways to save everyone. Fun power, and english dub is great (some of my favorite EN VAs, i actually preferred the dub for this one)

Magic Maker - IIRC (been a few years) the sister competes with the love interest which turned me off from the show, but isekai hero has to create a magic system from scratch (and master it) for his adventure. Fun satch aside from relationship stuff from what I can remember, but I usually don't prefer the child isekais.

Campfire cooking in another world - if you somehow missed it? No love interest, just companionship and saving different towns while cooking various Earth recipes.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer - Low rank experienced adventurer gets turned into an undead. Continue his dream of becoming a high rank adventurer.

Not isekai but a good adventure trope.

Campfire Cooking in Another World - The MC is normal. Everyone else...

By the Grace of the Gods - Wholesome show about a reincarnated boy who doesn't have a harem, just OP skills and thousands of slime familiars.

A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai - this one is cute.

Potion, Wagami wo Tasukeru - an adorable Isekai with a female protagonist. The only season out right now is more Slice of Life than Hero's Journey.

As a Reincarnated Noble - Really great if you like political drama and character building.

Loner Life in Another World - Probably not what you want, but one of my favorite recent Isekai.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad's Been Reincarnated - The title says it all.

The New Gate - Ever ask yourself what would happen if Kirito was alone in an MMO world and not a total asshole? This is it.

Tsukimichi ~Moonlight Fantasy~ - The "harem" aspect has some weirdos that the MC avoids, but otherwise fits your asks.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time - This one is more wish fulfillment than Hero's Journey. Guy has been there, done that, knows everything from the start.

Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions - Just a dope group Isekai.

Mushoku tensei
Re:zero
That time I was reincarnated as sa slime
Konosuba
Overly cautious hero
Faraway paladin
Rising.of the shield hero
So im a spider so what

Thanks for asking this question!

Sweet Reincarnation: it follows Pastry Mille Morteln, a 9-year-old boy and reincarnated genius pâtissier aiming to create a land of sweets in a fantasy world. He must defend his poor domain against bandits, malicious nobles, and financial ruin while mastering magic to bake.

I love to cook and bake so I enjoy it. Its very light hearted. I can only find it in Japanese tho

There's a decent selection of newer isekai that have a hero's journey without weird quirks like that, but since I bet a lot will be suggested by others, I'll recommend some older shows.

Vision of Escaflowne - Serious and dramatic show, with a very classic fantasy feel (despite the presence of mecha). The main character who was isekai'd isn't quite as much the hero as her love interest is, but otherwise is a good fit.

MÄR - A lot more lighthearted and shounen than Escaflowne but it's very fun and genuine.

InuYasha - Yes, this is isekai. It does drag a bit with big stretches without much plot progression but it is an actual hero's adventure without many gimmicks. Inuyasha and Kagome kind of share the hero role.

Try campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill , complete mixture of humour, fights and food. I really like watching it

Also not an Isekai but delicious in dungeon is also good , has the food elememt too but with enough fight and plot

Sasaki and Peeps

Mushoku Tensei, Rezero , Overlord , Farway Paladin , Slime , Moonlit Fantasy.

My favourites that fit are already said. Mushoku tensei, Konosuba, re:Zero , The wrong way to use healing magic, Tsukimichi, Im a spider, Slime, No game no life (maybe? They dont get powers), Grimgar, Overly Cautious Hero.

Some are hard to stomach with flawed MC at first but pays off in their character progression.

This one is like never mentioned, it’s kind of an isekai but more of a redo type fantasy show. 12 episodes of pure glory. A returners magic should be special

Mushoku Tensei!

Handyman Saito

The Faraway Paladin. No gimmick, and MC actually needs to train. It also avoids the harem and chosen hero trope. It also doesn't have stat windows and systems.

The MC could be basically anyone's D&D character.

The Twelve Kingdoms
