My Thoughts on Yano-kun's Oridinary Days
I found the hidden gem of Fall 2025 anime. It's a romance anime that doesn't break a lot of new ground. There's the standard stuff, birthday episodes, study sessions, summer festivals, school festivals, and so on. But it's hanlded really well. I don't need every anime to be overwhelmingly original, just executed well and to get the feeling of genuine passion and love going into them. When the series started I thought it would be more similar to Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless, but that feeling ended pretty quickly as this is inherently more interesting than that. The main character, Yano Tsuyoshi, is stricken with horrible bad luck. This bad luck causes him to be injured constantly. While this is used for a lot of pretty good comedy, it's also a source of light drama, espeically at the end, because it causes him to not be able to make friends. He wants to, but everybody thinks he's cursed and stays away from him, even though it's not his fault. That brings us the main girl, Kiyoko Yoshida, who has interest in him and wants to befriend him. And of course she ends up falling in love with him too. The comedy in this series is good, nothing made me laugh out loud but I also don't think there's a bad joke either, Yano and Kiyoko have great chemistry and are super charming, and the final episode is effectively uplifting and poinant when Yano's friends tell him how much they want to keep being his friends and that it was never his fault about how bad his luck is.

I also loved how the side characters had super famous voice actors and the main characters' voice actors were their first main roles. Made listening to them speak very enjoyable
