But man, Hitoma’s a really good teacher for doing what he did for Usami. Worth a 3 month pay cut for sure.
That makes me wonder, if everyone at the school is more akin to being "yokai" spirits as opposed to your typical "demi-humans"?
I know we have the one one teacher Yuki, who seems to be a "yuki-onna" snow woman spirit.
Curious to see what Haneda's backstory will be now.
Sad for Usami though.
At least she was able to see her owner off one last time, and find a new purpose and desire to become human.
I'm sure her becoming a doctor one day, she'll be able to help countless other humans along the way.
Poor girl only wanted to spend her life with the human she liked, but time isn´t that good...
At least, with Hitoma risking his job with a 3 month pay cut, and Usami penalized with 150 less essence, she discovered her will to become human: Being a doctor
10/10 episode, and now only Tobari remains with her backstory, the one I was the most curious about
Usami really ought to be a bit nicer to Hitomi going forward considering all that plus docked pay, but you know she won't.
Now we know a lot more about her backstory.
And yes, this episode also brought tears as well.
I find anime with the ability to bring tears to be higher on my like list. As I get to feel emotions.
We need a Dr Usami spinoff in the future.
Now if only she would stop being so tsun and admit that she likes Hitoma already, but I doubt that'll happen any time soon XD
I thought Usami would have a more rabbit-like form but it was pretty surprising that she's a plushie (i wonder how this applies to the others), But it was nice to see her and Seiko meet and finally talk to each other and sad that this may be their last time.
I didnt think I'd enjoy the anime this much,I have been loving the girls' development and these past 4 episodes have been really good so far
The rest of the episode: man. I haven't cried in a long time while watching anime. I hope she becomes the best doctor or nurse.
Swimsuits for everyone!
What's the situation?
Ah.
She'll want to go with him rather than the principal wouldn't she?
Wait she's not even a rabbit she's a stuffed rabbit?
Something tells me she'd be even _more_ suspicious in that form... My own favourite plushie I've only had for a couple of decades and it already looks rather worn, if she showed up looking all pristine that would probably be more suspicious than just being a person.
Come with her?
And so they're going to have to keep holding hands.
So, he'll give her the ring for now.
One month to live?
And so that's the last they'll see of each other.
And now she's on top of him...
Oof.
It's also strange that Usami was born/made in the 50's at latest so she'd be from Hitoma's grandparents' generation. How did she come to live with Seiko, like did she just wander into her house? Did someone buy her at the store? Did Usami have parents or did she somehow just get inhabited by a spirit? It's very weird and it overshadows a lot of what they were trying to do in this episode, like a similar thing to Toy Story where the toys watched Andy grow up and cared about him except they left too much unexplained just to get there.
I also liked how straight forward Usami's backstory was with Seiko. No twist or drama like Usami hates humans for what happened with Seiko but instead it was just she wanted to be there for Seiko after she lost her husband and I thought that was really sweet and well done.
I'm surprised Seiko didn't comment on Usami being missing, since they've been together for most of Seiko's life, It seems Usami joined the school after her husband died so Usami going missing must have been devastating for Seiko, since she was talking/crying to Usami about losing her husband.
I'm also a little surprised she still had Usami into her 70's and hadn't passed her on to her children or grandchildren.
Hitoma is the GOAT, not only did he risk everything to help Usami, he also planned for her to be alone with Seiko so he drugged himself to fall asleep so he didn't leave the hospital while his memories were gone.
I wonder how many people stopped to check to see if he was still alive, cause someone sitting completely motionless for over an hour would cause some concern with hospital staff.

I didnt full cry but damn even the shows you have low expectations from or none like this one delivers in this mega stacked Winter season.
