Hi BouncyMegabazz, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

Bleach, Gurren Lagann, Bungo stray dogs, Steins gate, Baccano!, Angel Beats

SilenceGlaiveX2026-01-31 16:58

Claymore, Dandadan, Inuyasha, Gurren Lagann. Vampire Hunter D has gorgeous animation.

I highly recommend Claymore, Gurren and Vampire Hunter, plus stuff like Perfect Blue, Ghibli movies, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Trigun Stampede (better than the original since it's close to manga but way different art but looks good), Jujutsu since he liked Demon and new season of JJK has nice faux hand drawn style, G Gundam, Wolf's Rain, Samurai X Trust and Betrayal (2 separate movies, ignore the third Reflection), and To Be Hero X has gorgeous art if you like stuff like into the spider verse art.

I can name some more once I fully wake up but that's the best I can think of rn

A lot of these are so impressive or pretty that I’d watch without sound.

Dororo - older anime, but dark. Also kinda bloody. The

Clevatess - I’m watching this now (4th episode). It’s dark. With death.

Lord of Mysteries - just watched this. Dark themes, atmospheric. Blood and gore. Also steampunk.

Link Click - episodic with a longer arc. Darkness, over and over. Humans are shit.

Master of Diabolism - dark themes and lovely art

Mushi Shi - episodic - pretty art and some of the episodes are darkish

Ergo Proxy - the art is dark, the theme is darker,

Land of the Lustrous - pretty, with dark themes. Also will break your heart that it’s incomplete

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - definitely not Sailor Moon

Taisho Otome Fairy Tale - atmospheric with toxic family

The Ancient Magus’ Bride - the art goes back & forth as do themes

The Boy and the Heron - typical Ghibli art with dark themes (movie)

The Heike Story - historical Japan so, you know, dark

Violet Evergarden is beautiful to look at because KyoAni. Themes of love, loss, & PTSD

Hal - pretty typical art, but a nice color palette. About coping after loss. Short (1 hour) movie.

Clevatess ...it is new, but the storytelling and style are like the golden era of anime
