Looking for a specific anime

3-5 years ago I saw a clip of an anime featuring a transgender man. He had a healing factor which prevented him from getting any affirming care. He said that every time he saw himself in the mirror he would throw up. I would like to find where this is from.

Not an anime but sounds like this Togata character from the [Fire Punch](https://myanimelist.net/manga/98270/Fire_Punch) Manga.

https://noncis.home.blog/2021/05/24/genderqueer-character-database-togata/

"The explanation, when Togata finally gives it, is that yes, Togata is a trans man. He says he has “a man’s brain in a woman’s body” and suffers from severe body dysphoria — however, his regeneration prevents him from getting gender reassignment surgery, so he sees no choice but to live as a woman in the hopes that maybe if he just tries hard enough, he’ll stop feeling this way."

EDIT: Same Mangaka as Chainsaw Man, btw.

I’m 99% sure what I’m looking for was anime but I might check this out. Thanks :)

I agree with the other commenter that it’s Togata from Fire Punch, what you wrote describes him exactly. It’s a great manga but has some heavy subject matter, though it’s worth it for Togata. There’s not many animes with trans guys in them, so I’d be really surprised to hear if there is an anime like that.

This one’s from this 2025, so not what you’re talking about, but as a similar recommendation: Fujimoto’s 17-26 is an anthology series with an episode called Woke Up As a Girl Syndrome, which is a bit fantastical but definitely a transmasc story.
