It’s amazing, highly recommend. It’s very goofy and absurd but it’s so heartfelt
Rezok_102026-01-31 20:11
I was always a opm guy and I was having trouble getting into ep1 in mob so I left it but I'll give it another go
NotSoGreatWizard2026-01-31 20:26
Mob Psycho 100 is One Punch Man with pathos.
OPM tells the same joke over and over and revels in the repetition, and it’s great for that. Saitama doesn’t need to change or grow after his introduction, and the writers have a laugh any time they convince the viewer Saitama might face a challenge for once.
Mob takes the concept of an obviously overpowered character and tries to explore the difficulties wielding such a power might pose when you also still have to be a normal person at the end of the day.
Usesourname2026-01-31 21:51
I didn't know that ONE created both and I never watched/read Mob Psycho 100. I love OPM so I'll have to give it a shot.
turkeygiant2026-01-31 22:24
They are pretty wildly different outside of the shared theme of a overpowered protagonist, OPM is much more a straightforward action/comedy as you probably know, Mob Psycho is more of a character piece where you really dig into the protagonist's hangups and see what he means to his friends and family. The Mob Psycho adaption is also a lot closer to the original artist ONE's really amateur almost childish style visually, its still incredibly animated, but they didn't update the aesthetic as much as OPM did.
anarion3212026-01-31 23:03
Certainly OPM starts with a more developed mc than Mob, and the premise is more goofy, focused on the parody, it's an early work of One and the development is focused more on side characters, but Saitama also has a little bit development.
One is a good writer, he also created another series I heard good things about, Versus, though I'm letting it some time to have more content, hopefully is as good as Mob.
HereToReadWeebs2026-01-31 21:28
Episode 1, 2, & 3 are the worse episodes of Mob Psycho. Every episode after that I would personally rate above 8.5/10
xXxMihawkxXx2026-01-31 22:59
I tried to watch the show already 3 times and I wasn't able to get past episode 3. If my 4th time doesn't work out, I'll come back to haunt you! 🕯️😅
Terrible_Donkey_82902026-01-31 20:22
Mob is a perfect anime with a perfect ending HIGHLY recommend. It gets in, tells it's story and ends in 3 seasons
Low-Glancer-Roy2026-01-31 20:44
Yo.....
Careful for the complete liquefaction of your sinuses. Bring tissues.
It is spectacular.
AnActualPlatypus2026-01-31 21:15
Mob S1-S2-S3 is objectively one of the highest effort, best produced, most cohesive and fully complete anime adaptations every created. The absolute miracle of keeping every single aspect of the show at a consistent 10/10 can only be compared to 2011 Hunter x Hunter. It's a masterpiece all the way through and a must watch for everyone.
kfijatass2026-01-31 21:41
Why give up on it in the first place?
APRengar2026-01-31 22:48
Maybe it's a hot take, but I actually think episode 1 is one of the weaker episodes of Mob.
Mob defeats both enemies without even trying. Reigen does the same "does a big splashy action to no effect" joke twice.
I feel like some people might assume there isn't much depth to the characters or story from episode 1 alone. A worse writer would just repeat the same set ups and jokes and it'd probably be "good enough" to air. I can see people dropping it here.
But Episode 2 introduces us to the Body Improvement Club. It shows us there is more depth to the comedy and the story, with a bit more in terms of combat.
Then episode 3 shows us Dimple, massive improvements to the depth to the characters, and combat. And then you realize you're watching something super special.
kfijatass2026-01-31 23:37
3 episode rule exists for a reason I'd say, but on the other hand, I can see how some people might dismiss it as comedy power fantasy based off purely season 1.
AscendingRs2026-01-31 20:00
I will watch this clip in full every single time. It’s so emblematic of Mob as a person and just makes me so happy every time I see it. He’s such a good kid
howmanyMFtimes2026-01-31 20:30
Yup. Mob is a great role model. He actually makes me want to better myself lol.
pizzaspaghetti_Uul2026-01-31 22:08
I can't stop smiling every time I watch it, it's beautiful.
ArturiaPendragonFace2026-01-31 20:02
Great MC progression from start to end. Mob psycho is a beautiful show from ONE.
AnActualPlatypus2026-01-31 22:33
Mob is someone we all should try to be in this crazy age
FunPresentation64332026-01-31 20:09
Gotta rewatch peak.
clongane942026-01-31 21:48
Yeah guess I know what I'm doing this weekend
New_Essay_48692026-01-31 20:11
One of the best shounen animes Ive ever watched
Malrottian2026-01-31 20:11
Middle school Superman in all the right ways. If Reigen didn't exist, Mob would absolutely be my favorite Mob Psycho character.
Unlikely_Sky90032026-01-31 20:45
If regen didn't exist, mob would've lost himself long ago
Aqunath11692026-01-31 20:51
Regen is the type of person every kid needs in their life.. A lot of people have a Regen. But theres also alot who benefit from the small features that, that dude hands mobs by being a simple straight up guy.
LeftHandedFapper2026-01-31 23:12
I loved the development of Hanazawa as well!
SupperTime2026-01-31 20:15
Loved this scene
kirsion2026-01-31 20:17
I have a coworker who needs to watch this scene and learn from it
Raven123x2026-01-31 20:18
Mob psycho 100 is phenomenal. ONE is just a great writer of people that are fundamentally good people.
Aqunath11692026-01-31 20:51
Ye. And its not even heroisme. Its just simply the logical good thing that a reasonably person would do in.
Phyrexian_Overlord2026-01-31 21:20
GOOD THING ALL THESE HEROS DID ALL THE WORK FOR ME AND I CAN TAKE ALL THE CREDIT.
Terrible_Donkey_82902026-01-31 20:21
This clip is legendary and I will fistfight anyone who says otherwise
Wastelandrider2026-01-31 20:43
All the amazing fights. All the amazing character moments. But this scene right here encapsulates what makes Mob the best of the best.

It's a single word but it recontextualizes the relationship between Mob and Tsubomi for the viewers. Love this litte inclusion.
AngryVegan942026-01-31 20:56
Mob psycho is so underrated, it’s such a fantastic story and it has so much heart. Every character is interesting and narratively complex and they even managed to stick the ending.
Rude_Tough4852026-01-31 21:03
This is easily one of my favorite scenes ever in anime.
Competitive_Net_60382026-01-31 21:05
My favourite anime, I miss this anime so much!!! Spectacular animation!
Buckth3weasel2026-01-31 21:11
Mob should’ve had more interactions with this girl and had her as an available romantic option by the end of the show after he was rejected by the childhood friend girl who’s name I have forgotten: change my mind
Witty_Comments2026-01-31 22:38
Tsubomi is the childhood friend
CanadianNoobGuy2026-01-31 21:12
always loved this moment in the manga more, because of how Mob reaches for the pieces in [this page](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAk4WDP2VxwgdYJY_KYTwJATZeNOKgkDSEha_dB11KDcIR2q1xXhTyQIk-x5munr6O20V-T3lRNKBO1F84ucSKQrEVFy9kuEDDKLEmr5DaYo9OT1-fU5qnMZC85_p4RG5g22c11p4uLMGCrP-pdUOLsbZrIHii0V4ccBuDwa4kP5U-SUqfIQ_0zoDu/s2133/18.jpg)
DuraMorte2026-01-31 21:16
Ngl, this goes hard af. I'm gonna have to watch this show, and maybe read the manga too. Hot damn.
Oreostrong2026-01-31 21:26
Mob is a treasure to this world.
StrawSolider2026-01-31 21:27
mob s2 was something special man
CarioGod2026-01-31 21:33
it's funny and sad how different this and OPM were treated, mob was good at first but spiraled into something phenomenal, OPM started off amazing and turned into what we got
JJVM992026-01-31 21:45
This scene is what made Mob Psycho go from a show where I wasn’t getting the hype and appeal to finally seeing how good it really was and the rest of that season carried its momentum.
Jaskaran1582026-01-31 21:46
[This is still one of my favorite moments that Mob decided to use his powers.](https://imgur.com/uGIkgIp) Felt like a sort of turning point of Mob in some small form.
Honestly, bless BONES and everyone who worked on the anime for giving us a complete adaptation that just showed their passion for the source material.
Glad-Entrance73772026-01-31 22:00
Mob could have done this with his esper power before, but he doesn't believe in the easy way.
Ok_Dentist_32542026-01-31 22:13
just started to watch this anime few days ago, really enjoying it. love mob :D
PrinceZero19942026-01-31 22:16
I loved this episode. Got a bit teary-eyed because of this scene.
N0rTh3Fi5t2026-01-31 22:19
This is my favorite scene in the show, though it has some stiff competition.
FelixAndCo2026-01-31 22:29
Absolute great moment in MP100, but am I the only one who thinks this has hardly any impact without the context?
enalenman2026-01-31 22:48
As ridiculous as this show can be. It’s my favourite
M4rc0sReis2026-01-31 23:23
mob having better romance than twilight.
this clip alone proves it, even if they never end up together or was just one small romance'ish plot.
is still better.
