Damn, everyone's already saying Gundam.
Then I'll go with Ideon.
MusubiKazesaru2026-02-01 09:51
I'm more of a Dunbine guy if we're talking non-Gundam Tomino, but the Ideon movie is incredible.

Pokémon became the biggest franchise in the world on the back of Ash Ketchum.
CruelAngelsThesis_012026-02-01 09:37
Gundam, Pokemon, Dragon Ball

If it is about toys, then It's GUNDAM yeah that's it. Gundam made the best toys their replicas are way cooler than beyblades.. when beyblades entered the market they started facing problems with other local beyblade manufacturers.. and cheap quality ones circulated over the markets yeah so
GUNDAM:1 BEYBLADE:0

Gundam for the model kits and pokemon for the cards and games. The pokemon centers and gundam bases alone says it all.

Honestly i will die fighting that the first 3 beyblade animes were better than they aught to be. G-rev was a blast.
MusubiKazesaru2026-02-01 09:51
Basically all mecha qualify so I'm going to go with G Gundam.

Gundam is a toy commercial for robots thst ended up being up being a university level poli sci class.
It's like they got the same memo about needing to "teach moral lessons" as GI Joe, but went with "let's explore the conflict between neo liberalism and authoritarianism" instead of "look both ways before you cross the street."

Numerous mecha shows you can list. I am going with Armored Trooper Votoms.

Cowboy Bebop
Bandai pretty much gave Watanabe a blank canvas, and they only wanted something that could be made into a toy line featuring spaceships.
Best is subjective, but in my opinion? I love me some Digimon!

Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors was my fav growing up. Didn't think of it as an anime back then but it totally fits and was clearly written to sell the toy vehicles

"Sanrio Boys"--several high school boys discover that they're all into Hello Kitty and other Sanrio merch. Heartwarming slice of life antics ensue.
