Read Tower of God. It's literally the Korean One Piece, and probably won't end within the next decade, while already having so much material to read.
The art of One Piece is made fun of constantly. Guess how Tower of God started? Exactly the same. It isn't until S2 of the web comic that the art got much more fine, and made into the standard of most popular comics.
Tower of God subreddit constantly have people come into the sub asking "when does it get good" the meme is even in this fanbase, with people saying, "Season 1 Tower of God is just the prologue, let it simmer, boy."
Constant revolving cast of characters getting introduced, and getting tons of development outside the main cast, way more than the main cast gets. If one cast of characters doesn't peak your interest, one of them surely will.

If you want that *One Piece* feeling of world-building and characters that feel like family, you should definitely try Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. The adventure is huge and the trio is amazing.
If you don't mind an older show with a bit of a rough start, Fairy Tail is literally all about the bonds of friendship and epic journeys. For something more modern and intense, Attack on Titan or My Hero Academia are solid choices.
And if you want to try something totally different but with characters you'll end up obsessed with, Steins;Gate is a masterpiece. It's a time-travel adventure that hits hard!

I have watched fairy tail and it's the closest anime to One Piece in terms of adventure that I've watched. I haven't watched the others but I'll put my hero on my watchlist

Fairy Tail is literally one piece but for leftists
nimbat10032026-02-01 13:48
Hunter X Hunters the most obvious one to me quality and fun adventure wise with similar standout moments.
One piece is tricky to match on the goofyness and character depth/adventure side. Like the other big shounen do fights better etc while frieren and some of the classic fantasy shows like escaflowne and lodoss war can do the adventure and character side.
Ultimately one piece is epic fantasy more than anything so try reading epic fantasy books like wheel of time or brandon sanderson.

Thanks! I will check wheel of times

Dr stone the mc is recruiting character with different skill that actually required and going to be used. Also the author is fans of one piece i found some Easter eggs. And there will be final arc next season!

IMO this series is almost impossible to replicate, so a true one-to-one comparison with another anime just doesn’t exist. That’s probably why no popular manga today really tries to copy One Piece’s formula and I will even say they all tend to stay far away from attempting it.
SomeNewbieArtist2026-02-01 15:51
It doesn't have to be manga. I really love a grand adventure story especially when we also gather people along the journey. Similar to the likes of Oz The Great and Powerful movie

There are no One Piece clones that I am aware of.
You said 'similar', which implies a similar appeal, that is the formula of rescuing sad villagers and some big catharsis. OP is the sad battle shounen after all.
If you want good characterization and a dungeon crawling adventure, "Dungeon Meshi" has both the dramatic thrills and the fun characterization one craves.
