Edit:
As with everything, give Jujutsu Kaisen a try and formulate your own opinion by choosing a cutoff episode (to me it’s usually the first 25% if I don’t loathe it). I watched the first season, and didn’t enjoy it enough to move any further.
Apothecary Diaries is well-made intrigue.
Vinland Saga is considered exceptional (though I haven’t watched it)
Blue Box and The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity are good recent romance series.
Cyberpunk edgerunners
**Sound! Euphonium**
**The Saga of Tanya the Evi**
Dan Da Dan is amazing. Delicious in Dungeon is also SUPER good and a new season will be coming soon I believe. Ranma 1/2 is one of my personal favorites as well. JJK is VERY good. Anime is super “in” right now so anything popular will probably have a lot of younger fans, but that shouldn’t keep you from enjoying it!
Just be aware that Netflix doesn’t always have the rights to the entire series, so sometimes you’ll watch something, love it, and then have to find the rest of the show on another platform which can be annoying.
Jjk is an ok anime for beginners. It’s just full of hype so that’s why it’s popular. Personally I would rate it a 6-7/10 overall. The animation is good but the story is lacking.
If you want something similar to frieren in terms of the vibes, **delicious is dungeon** is great but it’s a cooking anime so don’t expect it to be a typical shonen anime.
**The apothecary diaries** is good too if you want a female mc for mature audience. I find it informative, kinda like sherlock holmes but set in ancient china. It’s fun to watch and has a bit of romance.
**Dandadan** is good IF you can watch past the first episode. It has SA scene which some people might find disturbing (even myself) but luckily I stayed thanks to the animation. There’s characters with different backstories that will make you cry and overall I loved the dynamics between everyone in the show.
**Attack on titan** is also one of the popular anime that gets recommended a lot. Personally I didn’t really like it as much as other people. It’s just too dark for me. But it’s worth watching if you like to get into anime.
I don’t know if all of these are available in philippines tho. I use netflix to watch anime too and all of these are available in my region so hopefully they’re available in your region too
