Looking for a recommendation

Does anything truly come close to fullmetal alchemist brotherhood and attack on titan? Like seriously. So far, I am yet to find something that fills the hole these 2 left. If there's something that could compare please do lmk, I've been looking and I can't seems to find anything. I know i started off with such a high standard that now everything else pales in comparison 😭

Hi limitless_void00, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Thanks will look at those 2. I was told Tokyo ghoul is very underwhelming compared to the manga?
And what's no game no life about?

hxh_gon12026-02-02 02:11

NGNL is an anime where 2 siblings are summoned to another fantasy world to challenge god. Since I don’t know the syntax for spoilers, I’ll leave this discussion here.

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:14

Im assuming from you're username u like hxh? Bro I wish it was finished , because if it was rn It would be the next thing I'd be watching and im pretty sure it would be a very strong contender for best anime of all time. It sucks that it's never gonna get finished. That's the only thing that puts me off watching it. I'm gonna feel horrible knowing I won't be able to see the end of it

hxh_gon12026-02-02 02:37

Yea hxh is my fav anime out of the big 3. Amazingly written story and amazing production. Yea it is unfortunate that we will never see it and, but the anime ending isn’t bad either. That stop at a respectable point in the story.

hxh_gon12026-02-02 02:12

As for Tokyo ghoul, I personally liked the anime.

Disastrous_Caramel662026-02-02 02:05

Death note, Black Butler, Berserk 1997.

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:06

Watched death note was my first or 2nd anime, was excellent. I've heard bad things about berserk. I'm also looking for something more mainstream

Disastrous_Caramel662026-02-02 02:12

Well, if going mainstream, Cowboy Bebop seems to be almost universally loved. Demonslayer is also popular for a reason (even if employing a lot of Shonen cliches).

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:15

Hmm, cowboy bebop looks cool. I think imma take a look at it, since it's finished
Thanks

Uma-apreciator2026-02-02 02:08

Uma Musume Cinderella Gray has a high standart quality

LegendaryZXT2026-02-02 03:41

As someone who just finished that yesterday, it's _ok_ but not amazing. It's a solid 6/10 but i wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't like Sports Anime already.

Uma-apreciator2026-02-02 03:46

Maybe a Hajime no Ippo?

Initial_Hippo85612026-02-02 02:17

Black clover maybe? It ain’t finished fully because they had to take a break and I think it’ll be a bit until they’ll resume it so since you like binging it’d be perfect :)

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:22

Unfortunately I binge very fast once I start an anime, since everything I've seen I've enjoyed so I kinda get hooked. The longest anime I've binged was like 90 eps and I did that in like 2 weeks, so i don't wanna have to wait. Any other recommendations?

Initial_Hippo85612026-02-02 02:26

No no I don’t think you understood I’m saying it’ll be a while until they start up the anime again and once they do you’d probably forget most of what happened anyway so when they do (in over a year) you’ll probably rewatch it or I will anyway

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:31

Yeah that's what i mean i like watching anime in one go haha. So like once it's finished, i think I'll watch it. Pausing an anime and then forgetting and then rewatcing is smth I don't wanna do

Initial_Hippo85612026-02-02 02:35

Hmm yeah understandable ummm I could also suggest hunter x hunter?

limitless_void002026-02-02 02:37

Same thing with hxh, it's soo amazing. But it's so annoying that it didn't get finished

Initial_Hippo85612026-02-02 02:39

It didn’t? I kinda forgot I haven’t watched it in forever umm then maybe jojos? I haven’t watched it myself but I’m pretty sure it’s finished :/

69ShadesofPurple2026-02-02 04:26

Code Geass

Samurai Champloo

Arcane (not technically anime but a good rec)

limitless_void002026-02-02 08:49

Im tryma decide between code geass, steins gate and fruits basket what do you think?

Apart_Tell_49342026-02-02 04:41

Try out Gurren Laggan. Excellent action and hype I feel you’d enjoy, and it’s short.

Striking-Speaker86862026-02-02 11:43

I kind of tend to not enjoy mechas fights is it worth watching anyway?

Necromaniac012026-02-02 04:48

100% code geass or hunterxhunter

limitless_void002026-02-02 08:52

Im tryma decide between code geass, steins gate and fruits basket what do you think?

Only thing putting me off watching hxh is that it didn't finish, I know it's soooo damn good tho and that's the one anime I absolutely KNOW has the quality that aot and fmab has. It's just that it's not finished and I think it would kill me not seeing how it finishes . Idk if I wanna put myself thru that torture 😭

Striking-Speaker86862026-02-02 11:42

Frieren rated higher than those two

limitless_void002026-02-02 14:00

It's not finished yet tho, and rstjng doesn't matter too much. Its more about how well the story kd written

Striking-Speaker86862026-02-02 11:42

Hunter x Huntwr was my favorite either the original show from the 90s or the new one from a decade ago both were very good
