Not that it matters too much, Aniplex was already involved in Ruri Rocks.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 13:42
Yes, together with AlphaPolis/White Fox
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 08:55
Well, Aniplex is one of the best production companies to be owned by, I guess. Aniplex actually cares for producing high quality for their Popular anime. Mushoku atleast will be good.
I wonder if this means ORV for Studio bind, that’d be pretty sick
PsychoGeek2026-02-02 09:14
Bind can barely handle one long running show, they ain’t picking up another anytime soon
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 09:17
Didn’t stop the studio from doing Ruri Rocks and Onimai.
Atleast this way, Bind doesn’t have to worry about money. Aniplex isn’t stupid, they know how popular Mushoku is, so if they can put more resources into that series while also making other shows then they will.
otakupervert890-12026-02-02 09:23
And Flower and Asura. They did 3 shows between the four cours they dropped MT.
PsychoGeek2026-02-02 09:35
They did those shows because their most prominent director was interested in them, and he’s their main talent pull. Fuji requested to work on Ruri specifically since he’s a geology graduate. These projects are very different from series that require long term planning, one if which Bind is already struggling to keep with schedule-wise.
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 09:44
Yeah but being backed by Aniplex is a huge bonus towards attracting and allocating such talent.
Higher funds and resources are the usual upside from these acquisitions.
PsychoGeek2026-02-02 12:47
That can happen a few years into the future, sure, but way too late for ORV which should long found a studio by now.
WANNFH2026-02-02 09:55
>Aniplex isn’t stupid, they know how popular Mushoku is
But unfortunately Aniplex is that stupid to overwork their owned studios to the point that get them completely out of schedules instead, especially looking at current state of A-1.
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 10:00
Yeah that’s what they get for being too ambitious with projects, but atleast they aren’t afraid of delaying projects if need be, costing them more money. Eg 86 Solo leveling and current Fate Strange Fake
Other production companies will not delay at all and rush their animators which creates poorly done anime. Bandai with OPM for example
WANNFH2026-02-02 10:16
Overscheduling the studios completely with everything to the point that they cannot fit into the deadlines is not really that much better, and Aniplex known for a fair share of it (86, NieR Automata S1, Wonder's Egg Priority), and they still doing this as they have something like Eisen Flugel movie - which was announced back in 2022, but still not have any definitive day up to this date.
>Bandai with OPM for example
Let's not put the blame for OPM on just Bandai and omit the fact that the only animation studio that agreed to their conditions is J.C. STAFF, which is pretty much known as a sweatshop relied on cheap subcontractors to pump literally three different shows per SEASON, which pretty obviously gets the quality down the drain.
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 10:22
Like I said, over scheduling is bad, but I would prefer a delayed Anime 100/100 over a rushed Anime.
The reason I mentioned Bandai is because apart from their work on OPM, their production demands on Tower of god, Slime and Blue lock are well known. Most of the blame when discussing a bad quality anime is always on the Producers.
WANNFH2026-02-02 10:46
>Like I said, over scheduling is bad, but I would prefer a delayed Anime 100/100 over a rushed Anime
But Aniplex not always delay it either, they can literally put whatever they already have to rush into scheduled timeslot, and if it production not made in time - they just put the remaining on stuff on hiatus (86, Wonder's Egg Priority) or just completely put it on hiatus while show is still running to restart it later (NieR Automata S1, Misfit Demon King S2).
Aniplex could be lesser evil than Bandai with their botches - but they are still far from being good in terms of production.
qef152026-02-02 11:13
This was already the case with MT, S1 and S2 both were reported to have hellish schedules.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 13:41
It's very different from Aniplex, just look at the Madoka movie.
qef152026-02-02 13:58
Last time I looked up is that Shaft isn't owned by Aniplex.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 14:00
But Madoka is
https://youtu.be/v75vaHCPp5I?si=IIn9t7XPM2IOBszs
Read the video description.
qef152026-02-02 14:10
In that regard: it's also owned by the Magia Quartet. So Inu Curry, Akiyuki Shinbo, Ume Aoki and Gen Urobuchi. They too are listed as owners and thus also have a say.
They aren't subordinates, they are literally co-owners and as such can also delay and control the release schedule, whether Aniplex likes it or not. Aniplex also probably isn't going to or doesn't want to push them, considering it can cause entire anime to be cancelled.
It is quite different from the wholly owned stuff by Aniplex. Especially their studios, over which they have full control over.
And Houbunsha also probably has some say (not much, but some), considering they are on the production committee and are also the exclusive publisher for almost everything Madoka print-based (and Ume Aoki also is tied to Houbunsha).
Add this all up and essentially Aniplex doesn't fully own Madoka, they have to share control and can't just decide what and when everything will happen.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 14:53
Literally, this applies to all anime; not all of them are 100% owned by Aniplex. Egg Firm itself owns a portion of the rights to SAO GGO, SAO which was once Aniplex's golden goose.
But that doesn't change the fact that the mind always has more control, I'm almost certain that they are the leaders of the production committee, primarily because it's on the official website:
Why are you downvoted for speaking the truth bruh....
Mutant_Fool2026-02-02 09:17
That would be a dream come true but I don't think that can be the case with MT being what they primarily focus on.
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 09:20
Yeah I guess, would be nice to hear about some news about ORV though, it’ll probably go to A-1 or cloverworks though.
Mutant_Fool2026-02-02 09:24
More news is definitely needed. I am keen on learning who will be directing it. ORV is one of those series which definitely needs a good director to work well as an anime series. Even if it has great animation, it won't really work if the the direction sucks.
gc111172026-02-02 09:39
Them blu ray sets though. Gonna be a c note to buy one.
Severe_Working_59342026-02-02 11:56
>Well, Aniplex is one of the best production companies to be owned by, I guess. Aniplex actually cares for producing high quality for their Popular anime.
Looks like someone doesn't know about **Nanatsu no Taizai.** This anime was one of the most big & popular anime at that time and those who keep decent information about anime industry knows what happened to it when Aniplex abandoned it to chase the Fate money.
Training_Bother_16632026-02-02 12:17
I still haven't forgiven Aniplex for abandoning the Nanatsu no Taizai IP and other franchises. I hope this doesn't affect Danmachi at all, and I hope Egg Firm continues working.
Severe_Working_59342026-02-02 12:41
I think Danmachi will not be affected much as its lead producers is Warner Bros Japan & Hakuhodo DY.
Training_Bother_16632026-02-02 12:46
While Warner Bros. Japan and Hakuhodo are the main producers, EGG Firm is a production company that has consistently supported the Danmachi anime to ensure the project maintains its quality.
ball_throwerAFK2026-02-02 12:40
Better, because that anime was mid
Severe_Working_59342026-02-02 12:52
You can stop worshiping Aniplex, from your other comments I can see you don't know shit about production companies. And no this doesn't mean more resources for MT as its lead producers are Hakuhodo DY & Toho Animation.
And You didn't like the anime doesn't mean it was not popular among fans at that time, their backstabbing Kodansha in that project shows that Aniplex is not some very good company and is almost as bad as Bandai. And they can do the same to one of the anime you like.

No lol, lead producer is not EGG Firm they are in the bottom of production committee, Source: [Link](https://keyframe-staff-list.com/staff/mushoku-tensei-ii-isekai-ittara-honki-dasu-part-2), Edit: [Source2](https://postimg.cc/v4QQ4MvW)
And as far I know Hakuhodo does the International distribution to streaming companies not Toho, I think I got to know this when they sent the censored version to CR and there was a huge drama in X
Toho is only in charge of JP distribution & Home Video.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 17:16
In that case you're right, Egg Firm doesn't have enough money to finance the production of any anime on its own, whether she's leading a production committee or pursuing other projects, her other projects are no different.
Cr4shburn822026-02-02 14:01
Good that they abandoned the anime that plays off sexual harassment as jokes.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 13:38
No, they abandoned it because it wasn't profitable for them, so the rest of the production committee decided to continue on their own, and that's what happened. Fate had nothing to do with it.
39MUsTanGs2026-02-02 12:14
Aniplex has had more than it's fair share of production fuckups and meltdowns (anyone remember WEP?) so idk if it's necessarily "good".
Not that it's necessarily bad either.
chris100232026-02-02 17:58
> Well, Aniplex is one of the best production companies to be owned by, I guess. Aniplex actually cares for producing high quality for their Popular anime.
Then they charge out the ass for blurays, both domestically and in foreign markets. Didn't bother to give Crunchyroll the Rascal Does Not Dream films until the second season was either about the air (Dreaming girl was added a month before episode 1 aired) or in the middle of the season (Sister Venturing out and Knapsack Kid was added after episode 6.) All three of these films being important to watch to understand what was going on in Season 2, so a lot of people probably went into Season 2 and were confused as hell since they lacked 2-3 films worth of context. Then you have how Kaguya Sama's anime deciding to just skip a ton of chapters and rush to the final arc instead of giving us more seasons. So now I'm going to have to read the manga to find out why Ishigami was upset at that Christmas party they teased at in the end of the First kiss Never Ends, and why Mikos arm was in a sling in the clipshow, and why Hayasaka cut her hair in the same short. Anyone know what chapter of the manga that the first kiss starts so I can read from there?
So yeah "Best production company" Yeah, one that kneecapped Kaguya Sama into a clip show and film, downright sabotaged Rascal Does Not Dream of... in the West unless you knew where to look. You can't buy the blurays for their shows unless you feel like spending hundreds of dollars for one show is worth it (it isn't.) Probably more than I can't think of, but they treat their customers like absolute ass.
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 08:58
If this mean we can get more resources on Mushoku then that’s great. Help from A-1 or Cloverworks would be insane
Abysswatcherbel2026-02-02 09:54
People here spinning this as possible help for Mushoku, when the opposite can also happen
Bind can support the pipelines of A1 and CloverWorks, or take less priority shows away from them, nowadays they both literally don't have enough human resources to keep up with their own hit shows
Every success from them needs to enter a large queue to start their next production cycle
I am not saying this is what is going to happen, but it seems people are setting themselves up for disappointment if they don't look at this from this perspective too
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 10:09
Yeah you are definitely right that’s possible. The only reason I have this perspective because it’s Aniplex of all companies and they are usually very good with handling projects like these. Which is why I’m not worried for Mushoku in the long run.
If it was ABC or Bandai I would be scared shitless of this happening.
cornonthekopp2026-02-02 10:19
I hope this doesn't affect studio bind persuing shows like onimai and ruri rocks that may not be as commercially successful as shounen slop is
Catboy14Yume2026-02-02 10:37
Aniplex from what I recall Involved in Ruri rock Anime
qef152026-02-02 13:06
If anything, if Abysswatcherbel is correct, it measn actually even more CGDCT, if Studio Bind is seen as the studio to offload their less important shows to. CGDCT is usually not on the front row.
Though in general the entire CGDCT department is safe as long as Shingo Fujii is still there (he seemingly only wants to direct CGDCT), and he somehow manages to consistently attract very good talent to specifically his anime. And the result is that the Studio Bind anime are some of the very best animated and directed CGDCT ever.
I would not be surprised if Studio Bind will become a CGDCT studio down the line. Especially as Mushoku Tensei is plagued by staff quitting and pretty awful deadlines, resulting in a noticeable drop in animation since S1 (and a part of the MT fanbase being jealous of what Onimai and Ruri Rocks got).
1000-MAT2026-02-02 14:11
>I would not be surprised if Studio Bind will become a CGDCT studio down the line. Especially as Mushoku Tensei is plagued by staff quitting and pretty awful deadlines, resulting in a noticeable drop in animation since S1 (and a part of the MT fanbase being jealous of what Onimai and Ruri Rocks got).
I like Onimai and Ruri Rocks, but I think you're being too idealistic about things, Mushoku Tensei is one of the main reasons Egg Firm has recorded large increases in profits in recent years.
qef152026-02-02 14:13
It's more a hopium than anything.
And this would go coupled when Mushoku Tensei inevitably ends at some point in the future.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 15:47
I also have doubts about that, since they only own half of the studio, and Aniplex studios are extremely crowded, So there's a chance they'll just send SAO for them to do.
Catboy14Yume2026-02-02 16:00
There plenty of time before they adapt the next arc after Alicization, because the author is still yet to finish the Arc and he currently focus on writing more Demons Crest, so the Anime Adaptation they announce in December will have plenty of material to adapt.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 16:49
I mentioned SAO because Egg Firm is on the production committee, plus the likely reason Aniplex bought Egg Firm is because of its IPs, and since JC Staff is on the production committee for Danmachi, SAO is probably the only one left.
qef152026-02-02 12:57
Preface: extreme amounts of hopium
What is also possible is that very specifically their CGDCT department (Shingo Fujii spearheading that department) could get *even more* resources (on top of that already stacked staff team).
Aniplex was involved with Ruri Rocks, but not with any of the other Studio Bind anime.
And as you said, that Aniplex can divert less hard hitting shows to Studio Bind more easily. CGDCT usually fall in that category (unless your name is Bocchi the Rock).
And I don't see Shingo Fujii directing anything else than full-girls-cast anime, considering he worked for the majority of his recent career at such works (including a lot of Precure funnily enough).
And Shingo Fujii is a massive talent attractor for his anime specifically, given both anime he has directed somehow get better animation than Mushoku, don't run into production issues as hard as Mushoku does and most importantly, gets a quite different, seperate team from the MT side of things.
And what I am reading in this is that even more CGDCT will be made with Studio Bind's excellent animation.
Of course, this is a truckload of hopium and I could be very well wrong.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 13:26
I don't see that happening, mainly because most of their animators are freelancers.
caiusto2026-02-02 09:07
Oh how wonderful, another anime production company absorbed by Sony, that's great for the industry!! /s
rizalisnanto2026-02-02 09:35
Why you got downvoted as if monopoly is a good thing. 😆
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 09:52
Because most studios are struggling just to stay afloat thus having to create 10 slop anime a year. Aniplex is a major backer willing to invest a lot of money, so I don’t see how this is a bad thing.
The Anime industry is very far off from a monopoly.
rizalisnanto2026-02-02 09:55
I do not know man you are so naive to think just because they got acquired by big company suddenly their problems are solved.
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 10:04
I dont see Aniplex as a fixer, but i dont think you are aware of the state that egg bind were before this acquisition, Studio bind couldn’t sustain producing only 1 anime at a time, as they were losing more money than they were making.
Being acquired by a huge company relieves some stress financially
caiusto2026-02-02 10:06
So you believe that in an industry where most studios are struggling financially a company hoarding a big chunk of them is somewhat viable? It just means that when the axe comes down it'll hit all of them at once.
Not to mention how with each new anime company they acquire they get more and more of your favorite anime to force you pay extra to have access to them, cause they gotta recoup that investment somewhere and it's obviously by making everything even more expensive.
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 10:15
A big chunk is a HUGE exaggeration.
Aniplex owns like 5 anime studios. There are probably atleast a hundred notable studios
caiusto2026-02-02 10:19
I'm talking about Sony, it's written right there in my original comment. Aniplex is just a small part of Sony's anime investments.
ExpiringMilknCheese2026-02-02 10:25
how many do you think Sony actually own lol
elmagio2026-02-02 11:38
Sony owns A-1 (which they founded), CloverWorks (which was spun off from A-1), 5% of Madhouse and now half of Bind. That's it as far as anime studios go.
Even their oft cited "monopoly" on streaming is largely made-up because Netflix and other services exist and Sony isn't even the richest player in that game.
That doesn't mean you need to want them to acquire more but the whole "oh no Anime is doomed Sony owns everything" shtick isn't based on reality.
Awkward_Silence-2026-02-02 15:03
>Even their oft cited "monopoly" on streaming is largely made-up because Netflix and other services exist and Sony isn't even the richest player in that game.
It also only looks at who's carrying international broadcast, often only in EU/America too. Not where shows are airing in Japan, where it actually matters tbh.
Shows live or die on Japanese viewers. It's pretty rare for an anime to survive solely on an international audience
xzerozeroninex2026-02-02 16:19
A-1 bought and absorbed studio 3hrz?(or something),but that’s a really small studio though.Plus the JOEN collab with Wit (and I think another company),so that’s 6 studios (5 if you don’t count 3hz since A-1 absorbed it).
elmagio2026-02-02 16:46
Yeah I don't count 3Hz as it's now part of A-1. And JOEN hasn't yet done anything. I also think counting Madhouse is a stretch considering it's only a 5% stake. Still, ultimately even if it's 4 or 5 the key thing is it's 2 notable ones that wouldn't even have existed if not founded by Sony + now half of Bind, so really far from the "Sony owns everything" the other person alluded to.
viliml2026-02-02 13:52
You are wrong on so many levels holy shit
caiusto2026-02-02 09:55
Not quite sure, but u/aune2021 has left a reply twice defending it but quickly deleted their messages. But I get it, Sony is apparently a their favorite billionaire company so any form of criticism to them is seen as a personal offense.
aune20212026-02-02 13:37
Who the hell are you to be making this ridiculous and presumptuous assumption about me? I have as much care factor about corporations as they have for me - which is to say, zero.
On the topic of this post, I much rather not see a company like Egg Firm fall into financial ruin.
viliml2026-02-02 13:53
Oh so now we're making up fantasies that Egg Firm would have fallen into ruin if Aniplex didn't swoop in and buy their debt or something?
aune20212026-02-02 13:57
Oh so they sold for the fun of it then? I assume they sold for a reason, and chose Aniplex as they worked with them on projects before. Don't care either way, but Studio Bind is a great studio, so the other option would have been their other co-owners of Studio Wit taking Egg Firm's stake if they were capable.
Catboy14Yume2026-02-02 10:28
Egg Firm already collaborate with Aniplex for a while now(mostly for SAO from what I recall).
Fun_Procedure9462026-02-02 09:22
It seems like Studio Bind (Mushoku Tensei) is a subsidiary of theirs so I guess that could have been a favor in this acquisition.
Nulazanzal2026-02-02 09:37
This is great news as long as it doesn't change which anime gets more attention.
Diablo-nim2026-02-02 10:05

pikkuhukka2026-02-02 11:10
wasnt egg firm reki kawahara's editors company designed to basically make more anime happen, as i remember it
Catboy14Yume2026-02-02 11:33
That Straight Edge,Egg Firm is different Company founded by SAO Anime Head Producer Nobuhiro Osawa,Miki Kazuma did act as Outside Director from what I recall, and Reki have some share for Egg Firm, but it seem Aniplex also buy Reki share.
pikkuhukka2026-02-02 11:47
huh, interesting
qef152026-02-02 11:11
Won't change too much aside some merch and production deals that would barely be noticeable.
Aside that, they were already involved with Ruri Rocks and that turned out very well.
For me it's going to be if the CGDCT department can stay, which I'm thinking most likely yes, based on what Aniplex makes.
Inb4 they give Studio Bind Bocchi S3 lol.
committed_to_the_bit2026-02-02 17:42
as long as they keep tactically deploying the CGDCT quality nuke that is Shingo Fujii on lots of projects I'll be happy, lmao
Severe_Working_59342026-02-02 11:53
Not sure what is up with the optimism for Aniplex in the comments when actually Aniplex themselves are a terrible production company in terms with schedules & overworking.
And SONY Group companies gobbling up every other anime company is concerning. But taking over EggFirm will not much effect anime industry as EggFirm main work is coordinating and managing anime productions and securing funding for projects. And 90% of the time they would go with Aniplex for this so there was already big working relationship between these two companies.
Kadmos12026-02-02 12:16
Honestly, I think the Sony Corp is big enough already.
Training_Bother_16632026-02-02 12:41
To be honest, I'm scared of this acquisition. I don't trust Aniplex at all, knowing that they currently have problems with anime planning and management, and that they acquired EGG Firm to help them with those problems.
1000-MAT2026-02-02 13:23
Aniplex is probably one of the best production companies currently, second only to Toho. Their only flaw is not postponing anime with production issues before the premiere, which leads to delays after they've already started airing, along with some 'questionable' decisions regarding the adaptation of certain series like Kaguya-sama and Horimiya.
With this acquisition, they secure the rights to half of Studio Bind, the other half belongs to White Fox, which was also acquired by the publisher AlphaPolis. Additionally, they gain more rights to several works where they were already part of the Production Committee, the most well-known example being SAO. They also acquired the rights to new IPs like Danmachi and Mushoku Tensei; in fact, Mushoku Tensei was one of the reasons Egg Firm began seeing high profits in recent years.

Bind can support the pipelines of A1 and CloverWorks, or take less priority shows away from them, nowadays they both literally don't have enough human resources to keep up with their own hit shows
Every success from them needs to enter a large queue to start their next production cycle
I am not saying this is what is going to happen, but it seems people are setting themselves up for disappointment if they don't look at this from this perspective too
If it was ABC or Bandai I would be scared shitless of this happening.
I like Onimai and Ruri Rocks, but I think you're being too idealistic about things, Mushoku Tensei is one of the main reasons Egg Firm has recorded large increases in profits in recent years.
And this would go coupled when Mushoku Tensei inevitably ends at some point in the future.
The Anime industry is very far off from a monopoly.
Being acquired by a huge company relieves some stress financially
Not to mention how with each new anime company they acquire they get more and more of your favorite anime to force you pay extra to have access to them, cause they gotta recoup that investment somewhere and it's obviously by making everything even more expensive.
Aniplex owns like 5 anime studios. There are probably atleast a hundred notable studios
It also only looks at who's carrying international broadcast, often only in EU/America too. Not where shows are airing in Japan, where it actually matters tbh.
Shows live or die on Japanese viewers. It's pretty rare for an anime to survive solely on an international audience
On the topic of this post, I much rather not see a company like Egg Firm fall into financial ruin.
Aside that, they were already involved with Ruri Rocks and that turned out very well.
For me it's going to be if the CGDCT department can stay, which I'm thinking most likely yes, based on what Aniplex makes.
Inb4 they give Studio Bind Bocchi S3 lol.
