* In the 10s, average episode length dropped 20 minutes. The dubbing of hentai essentially died out, and studios became more frugal. Everything that wasn't a sex scene was often reduced to still shots. The mob character became faceless because the studios didn't want to pay character designers.
* The 20s have been interesting. There are still plenty of hentai that follow the 10s model, but there seems to focused effort in producing high-quality 5-minute episodes with something resembling a plot. I think it's something of a *hentai renaissance*.
