Which of These 20 Anime Could Get Another Season?

The fact that a lot of older anime in post covid era have been getting remakes or sequel seasons and with a lack of hit mangas, it has made me hopeful that many of my favourite anime might just get another season! The biggest ray of hope was delivered by the recent announcement that Yona of the Dawn will be getting a S2 which i never expected!

So that begs the question, which other anime are JUST successful enough that they'd warrant another Season? I'll leave a small list so you guys tell me if any of these can be given a continuation.

Kaiji, Daily Lives of HS Boys, Wasteful Days of HS Girls, Wotakoi, Oresuki, Chiyo's School Road, Trillion Game, The Unwanted Undead Adventurer, Viral Hit, Ball Park De Tsukamaete, Ajin, Tsuredere Children, My Senpai is Annoying, Nozaki Kun, Oawari No Seraph, Prison School, Senko San, Galko Chan, Tearmoon Empire, and an Obligatory NGNL mention even tho we know thats never happening.

I just learned that apparently Daily Lives of HS Boys anime covers most of the manga, Is this true?? That's suck sooo much, i always thought there was a lot more content left...

I personally don't think that any of these could really be successful. If NGNL actually got another season it would likely go the same route as Devil is a Part Timer, the show is more famous for not having a continuation than it is for actually being good.

Some of them could definitely get another season imo, some are recent enough that its possible.

And yes agreed, watched NGNL recently again, it was pretty bad. I can't believe i actually enjoyed any of it all those yeara ago. Games were bad with zero strategy too, which i used to think were actually good. I only put it here because i knew the comments will probably mention it.

Personally, it would be cool to watch S2 of Prison school and Owari no seraph from the list.

NGNL is a pipe dream at this point.

I heard long aga that prison school had a bad ending but I'm willing to take that risk for another season

I could see Wotakoi getting another season. The rest are either too obscure or too old, but I guess nothing's impossible.

Sorry, sorry! I will say that even if they seem unlikely, pretty much anything could have a chance. I mean, a show as obscure as Blue Orchestra got a second season and Yona of the Dawn recently had one announced 11 years after the first season.

Yeahhh thats what I'm saying! As much as 40 anime are coming out every single season so there's hope yet. And its all good man!

While these won't get sequels probably the writer of Trillion game is the same as Dr.stone and this one is getting a complete adaptation. Dr.stone is science instead of business but you still get great characters and eureka moments. Worth trying at least

I'd say NGNL is still the most likely of those, followed by Owari no Seraph, Nozaki-kun and maybe a fringe chance of Kaiji. Generally shows that are popular internationally compared to Japan are more likely to get a surprise S3 after x many years, since the big change since the 2010s that's leading to many of these sequels has been the international streaming revenues being a major source of income.

I didn't know that but it makes sense. However many of the anime that are only popular in japan do get many continuations. Like all those idol shows having multiple seasons even tho i dont aee anybody talking about them, or trash girlfriend.

Rent-a-girlfriend is quite popular internationally wdym. And yes, Japan market is still big, and otaku shows that sell a lot of merch get more out of the domestic market than other shows, so shows that are big in Japan might still get sequel seasons regardless of international popularity. The difference is that something that is popular on Crunchy/Netflix might get more seasons based solely on international performance, something that would have been much less likely 10 years back.

Unwanted Undead has a s2 announced already

Some of the other ones have ended now which severely lowers their chances and some I'd say are further hurt by their s1 coming out so much later, but I'd say Tearmoon is possible. Trillion Game's manga just ended so getting a complete adaptation would be nice. Unlike some of the others these are a bit more currently relevant IMO.

Some of the others are popular but there's just one reason or another why I don't think they would even if it's not impossible

Ajin is one of the worst anime adaptions I've ever seen. You'll want to forget it and read the manga instead.

I so badly want a Season 2 of Shirobako. We got a movie, but I could easily watch 200 episodes of animation workplace drama. Every member of the cast was memorable and loveable, and the pseudo cameos from real anime legends like Hideaki Anno just elevate it to the next level.
