Hi Spyralis, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

You might also find our [Recommendation Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/recommendations) or [daily thread](/r/anime/search?q=flair%3Adaily&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=week) helpful.

If you like Gurren Lagann (which is actually my favorite anime of all time) you might like Kill la Kill

Spyralis2026-02-02 19:22

I've already watched it, I prefer Gurren Lagann for obvious reasons I think, but it was still fun, Kill la Kill :)

Ashita no Joe

Madoka Magica

Darker than black

Revolutionary Girl Utena

Deca-dence

Kuuchuu Buranko

Planetarian: Hoshi no Hito

So, Ashita no Joe, one day I wanted to watch all the seasons, but after Takemura won the world championship and Ippo won the Japanese championship, I kind of lost interest. I'll pick it up again someday, like with Conan.

I was recommended Madoka Magica as the only quality alternative to Little Witch Academia, along with Witch Craft Works, but I'm worried about the anime being too "girly," whereas Little Witch Academia managed to overcome that thanks to solid animation and a story with profound philosophical and moral messages.

Darker Than Black is on my urgent list, so it's planned for soon.

I've already heard of Utena; I'll check it out.

I loved Deca-dence; it's exactly my kind of sci-fi, by the way.

I'll make a note of the last two; I'm not familiar with them.

Thanks!

In order: yes (I prefer the paper version), obviously yes, as well as his new manga (not as good) Platinum End, yes, currently on the Egghead arc (short break), yes, as well as its sequel, yes, but I stopped Boruto (annoying), yes, but not the final season yet so no spoilers thank you, no but I didn't get into it sorry same for Jujutsu Kaisen, Erased very good manga, sorry if you don't see it in my top 10 by the way but choices are choices and there are only 10 places.

Honestly something like Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans may fit the vibe of Trigun, Code Geass and Evangelion. I really enjoyed the cinematography of the show including a rawness that most other main Gundam shows lack.

Spyralis2026-02-02 20:27

Gundam is really long, I planned to finish the Leijiverse expanded universe first before starting it, but it's planned, I'll get into it later

Twigling2026-02-02 20:16

Mushishi

Land of the Lustrous

The Garden of Sinners

Spyralis2026-02-02 20:28

Mushishi is on my urgent list, I don't know the other two (or three?) so I'm making a note of them, thanks
